White Gold Surrounds On DSSD?

I read today that the Sub has white gold surrounds does the DSSD have white gold surrounds. I think I read that the bezel has platinum in it. Are there other parts of the DSSD made of gold or platinum?

All Rolex watches use gold surrounds, markers, and hands on the dial..

The inserts on the new ceramic models use either platinum or gold spray metal deposition technology to give the numbers their color..

Yes the surrounds and hands are white gold but the gold is a very very very tiny amount same for the platinum on the insert. Its more a marketing gimmick than anything as the words gold platinum always make it sound expensive. And I believe Rolex calls it magnetron cathode sputtering wonder who the genius was who came up with that definition

Magnetron cathode sputtering is not a term invented by rolex. It is a physical vapour deposition (PVD) technique. Where a ladle with the PVD material (ex. DLC) is bombarded by ions accelerated by the 'magnetron'. The high velocity/energy impact causes material to dicoscciate and 'sputters' on the surface. The 'cathodic' PVD material is bombarded from an anode...that why ions strike it ..

So no genius there ....

There used to be a video of said procedure on the Rolex website, I think it was showing the process on the GMT IIC.

Here is the link!!
