1965 GMT 1675 Metal

Is there a difference in the metal formulation that is used in a 1965 GMT 1675 versus "modern" references? I could swear that the top of my wrist gets a little sensitive from wearing my 1675 versus any of my modern models. It just returned from the RSC in December with a full service so I know it is all Rolex certified parts.

Well the modern Rolexes use 904L steel and the older ones 316L, or something along those lines. Higher nickel and chromium content in the moderns. Typically people can be sensitive to the nickel, so I'm surprised you have it backwards.

I will have to get all scientific-like and try it on a Nato or Zulu strap. CSI: Rolex
