Rolex INSURANCE

Hey there all!
Just wondering who you guys use to insure your Rolex watches?? Do you have them listed on your homeowners policy, or do you use an independent company such as "Jewelers Mutual"???

Just curious who is the best to deal with for insurance on our great watches??

Have a good night all!

I do not use insurance on my watches. I do lock them up though when I am not at home.

Home owner's insurance is the best way to insure your valuables. Most companies are very reasonable.

Also use USAA. They have extremely reasonable rates.

Jewler's Mutual. I'd rather have my jewelry and watches not insured by my homeowner's policy as a claim would push up the premium for the entire policy.

Jewelers Mutual would cover that watch for about $57.00 per year with no effect on your homeowners policy. You should check them out and save some money. No. I'm not connected with the company in any way.

Good luck collecting from them, I have heard they are the worse to go with in the case of jewelry.

I am very surprised people do not use Chubbs as they are known for their jewelry insurance. Yes, they do cost a bit more, but they usually have no deductible and cover up to 150% of the appraisal cost.

Can someone give more details about USAA. Do you have to be or been part of the military?

USAA requires you or a member of your immediate family to have been military...and they are the best. Not only do they cover lost/stolen, but they also cover any damage, even if your stupid and drop your millie in the shower like I did.
I filed the claim, sent it to RSC for an estimate, and they wire transferred the funds for a crystal replacement right into my account. No deductible.

I don't

After having insured watches and jewelry for many yrs, paying lots of premium dollars without ever submitting a claim, I no longer insure this kind of stuff. I figure I'm saving plenty of dough every year and am basically self-insuring. Just my approach...

Has anyone ever made a claim with jewelers mutual?
I have my wife engagement ring with them and recently added my rolex. They are very easy to deal with and prices are reasonable but have not had to make a claim yet.
I am wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them when making a claim?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing too. I have a bad feeling about insuring my 10k watch with a company that I cannot even see them in person.

Although I did have a Rolex insured with my insurance company in the past.

$100 to insure a $5000 rolex I think is worth it.. It will take 50 years of putting away your dedutable to save enough money to replace the watch.
I don't want to have to worry if Someone tries mugging me for my watch.
If I did not have insurance I would probably try to fight back if someone tried mugging me for my watch (and possibly get injured) but with insurance I would give less resistance to someone trying to steal my watch.. It's not worth getting stabbed or possibly shot over a rolex and that's why I have insurance..

I use State Farm as well, a separate policy for personal articles such as jewelry, paintings, etc. My dad is the agent, so if there is ever a claim that will help with collecting. I may reevaluate when he retires next year, though.

I use State Farm. I have their floating articles policy, about $20,000 worth of watches and jewelry it costs me around $17 a month. Thats with a $100 deductible. I had one claim about 4 years ago. Had no problems at all...

Same here and I have two friends that I work with that use them as well and both of them have had to make claims. No issues.

One was b/c his wife lost earrings. No questions asked, just replaced.
The other was a guy who got his car broken into while at the gym. Police report was filed and guy got his insurance money.

Thanks for the info. I just insured my watches with them and it is good to know that they won't make me jump through hoops if I have to make a claim.

NP, I use them too. Hopefully I'll never have to file a claim!
