Black Jules Verne OEM Strap = $420!

Mother of god.

And, a custom order in most cases.

Just had the cold wated splashed on me today.

Sorry if this is old news. Guess I will hold tight on straps for a while.

Panerai FINALLY figured out how important straps are to Paneristi. Let the gouging begin!

Not worth it IMO. I had one and sold it. The normal JV is a much nicer strap and ages so nicely!

i was visiting the boutique in new york, planning on getting a new strap for my birthday; saw the high prices, and decided to pass. there are too many aftermarket makers that turn out better straps for less money.

Is it really that much? It should be at the USD$300 dollar mark unless you asked OP for a custom sized.

unreal!

getting past the shock, is there anything in the process or leather that would justify a $100 mark up? or, is just supply/demand?

if the market can sustain these prices, the execs over at richemont must be salivating, thinking not only can they get $10K for a SS 2-hand watch, but big money for straps from a captive and loyal clientele.

if it works, it works.

You guys getting the idea where Panerai is going now. Just their direction. Things are going to continue to grow and grow. They want to be a more exclusive brand in the long run.

Agree with Mik.. And most of the time oem gators are very hard to beat in terms of colour hue , treatment, and gator pattern.

The only strap area that pam is lacking are vintage styles, but seems like they are catching up with the assolumante!

i guess by exclusive you mean price? so, is 50K/year a high-water mark for PAM production?

Take som pics. I'm curious/anxious to see it on a RAD

I'm debating between the assolutamente strap or black/gold JV.

Panerai has been stating for years they want to be a "high end manufacturer". They want to be more exclusive, so price high, numbers relatively low.

Blavk jv straps are really uncommon, and with the premium they command, I think they will stay ubxommkn

What a great read Bill, thanks for sharing that. I was thinking of writing such a report, but clearly this guy has done it with flying colours. Not to mention he got that picture of the brevetatto with the nubuck... Yum...

Sure!

That web write up was key to helping me decide on my golden JV. That page is always atop a google search on JV Panerai.

Would LOVE to get a black one, but man...$420.

Sounds real nice, but like you said $420 for a strap is a bit salty.
