Help....my day date doesnt hack

Hi guys,

Has anyone ever had their rolex hacking mechanism stop working? When I pull out the crown the second hand doesnt stop. The watch has a 3055 movement.

It's broken it's a thin piece of brass plated steel and it moves back and forth with the set lever unfortunately the whole movement has to be taken apart to fix it. So if you're close to service time now would be a good time. Usually when it breaks it's in the hack position so at least your watch is still running. Rik

I've had it happen before...there's a lever that pushes up against the balance, stopping it (hacking), and sometimes that lever can fall out of allignment with he notch on the stem that moves it. It's not really a big deal to an experienced watchmaker, but if it's been awhile since the last service, they might insist on working the whole movement, rather than just addressing this issue.
