What people don't know about, they mock!
A friend of mine noticed my GMT, first thing he said was "how much was that" I said, after pointing to his wifes new Nissan car "a lot less than that, but I can use this everyday for the next 5years and it will be worth the same amount, how much will the car be worth?" He replied "probably not much". |

When I land mine, it won't be because of a trust fund, or even a huge salary. It will be because I spent years faithfully tucking away my spending money for it. As my old boss put it, "It's all about how you prioritize your non-essential spending. If a person wants to blow all their money on coffee and the latest gadget or whatever--fine. Frankly I'd rather save for a down payment on this." Then she handed me the keys to her new 3 series and said, "You wanna make a coffee run?" Heck yeah I did. I was also chastised once about my interest in expensive watches by an individual who owned several very nice guitars--way nicer than was necessary for a quiet afternoon playing in the living room. I pointed this out, and I haven't heard anything about watches since. |
