Tudor restoration

I got my Tudor back from the local repair shop yesterday (he is an authorized Rolex watch repair man). He did a good job on it. I bought it in pretty rough shape, cracked crystal, stripped crown, broken mainspring, water damage etc. Hope you enjoy the picture.

Out of curiosity, what shape was the dial and hands in?

Crystals, stems, tubes and crowns are very easy for Rolex repair people to get. Cases and bracelets can be polished and refinished. Internal parts can easily be retrieved on the ETA movements. But on older pieces, the weak links are dials and hands.

Your watch shows like new hands and dial. It looks great. Were those elements in good shape, or were they also replaced?

Thanks,

replacement parts

The dial was refinished, the hands were in good shape. The bracelet is a new "Tudor" bracelet. Here is a "before" picture.

Very nice vintage Tudor David - shame the dial had to be re-finished but it is far more presentable now, it looks excellent . Wear it with pride

Yes, a good reminder to get that screw-down crown fixed if it fails to screw down.

I would rather keep the old original bracket.

Me too, but it came with a spiedel band, not the original, unfortunately.
