Explorer 2 on Sub bracelet
Anyone familiar with this scenario?
Sixteen years ago, my father bought a Expy 2 from an AD in UK. Unbeknown to him, he had bought it on a Submariner bracelet. Now, speaking to the AD, apparently Rolex had the choice of selling the Expy 2 on the standard Explorer bracelet or the Submariner bracelet. Anyone have an Explorer 2 on a Sub bracelet? |

Yeap I have seen a few examples equipped with 93150 bracelets. Seems like the costumer had the choice between a 78360 and a 93150. Same thing with a 16750 I had if I recall well

the clasp is longer on Sub bracelet.
I have to say I'm wearing my GMT with a sub bracelet and it's actually better The shorter end link on the claps side lets the watch sit better on my wrist.

Mine's on a Sub bracelet too. You have the extra expansion link that folds against the clasp.

We have gotten in the habit of calling the 93150 w/extension the Sub bracelet, mistakenly assuming that it was only available on the Sub..
The 93150 bracelet was an option for the Explorer II and the GMT for many years... I have both with an original 93150.. The extension bracelet can be worn outside a flight suit or a lightweight gortex climbing jacket..

I bought two early 90's ExpII's for sons. I bought them from the shop I use for all my work and bought them about a year apart. They were basically identical black face Explorers, and when I later saw them on the kids' arms, I realized that the bracelets were a little different. One has the Sub bracelet and one doesn't. So I guess it's pretty common.
