questions about 16610LV
Hello everyone,
I've been reading this forum on and off for a couple of years. i bought my first and only rolex about 3 yrs ago, it's the 15200 Date with blue dail. i love the simplistic styling and i've been wearing it to work everyday since. Recently, I've been thinking about replacing it with another model, one that goes well with formal and casual wear. ideally i would like to keep my 15200 but life is not perfect. i've been looking at a few models such as sub, GMT and explorer. in the end i prefer the look of the sub. i have tried on one of my relatives' black sub and its beautiful. i do like the black sub but i prefer the maxi dial of the 16610LV. i am not too fond of the new sub 116610 although i may try it on when i visit the local AD sometime in october. so i have some questions about the LV, do they all have SEL and no lug holes? and does it matter which serial letter i go for? is it the newer the better? finally if i swap the green bezel to black and take the watch to rolex for servicing, will they reject it? thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.. |

Well the 16610LV is only a standard 16610 sub thats was introduced first in 1988/9 and the movement has not changed. All 16610LV will have the SEL maxi dial and non lug holes cases and the inserts are very easy to change over. And yes Rolex will only service it with its original bezel green insert so just swap them over very easy.It makes no difference whatever the letter serial its just like a serial as on any product. But if more thyan 5 years old and not serviced it would be prudent to budget a service in the purchase.
