Bored, thought I'd share my strap obession. Getting perfect fit analysis. Lum v Rad

There are so many subtle differences in the Panerai case. Look at these pics and tell me which strap is longer than the other. Just trying to have fun. I won't post until about 10+ hours from now. Have fun, or make fun of me overnight....your choice.

Tough one, and I have owned a Rad in the past along with the many Luminor's I have owned. I would say the Rad strap is longer, and it's a Codman I think.

eh...I guess no one cares.

The one on the 111 is like 132/79
The one on the 190 is like 136/82

What is weird is there is more room for tail on the 190 and it is already longer. It looks like the way the 111 lugs wear on my wrist that shorter straps wear longer on me. You can see how the 111 lugs are so close to my wrist, just hugging them. The 190 sticks up a bit more and looks like it takes more strap to wrap around.

Oh well, I'll place my next order now!

Thanks mfer. When I first started on the strap hunt, I had no clue about strap sizing and fit. I realized later its a bit of "science" to get the buckle in just the right position and balanced with just the right amount of tail. Once I got the 233 - I realized yet again, that not all straps fit the same on different cases! It would fit one way on the Luminor 000 whilst I had to used a different hole for sizing on the 233 which I had no clue about.

I would have guessed the strap on the right is longer.

I'm really surprised. I'm ordering 2 straps from the same maker and asking the the lumior strap to be shorter. I'm getting a 140/90 for my rad and a 135/85 for lum. We shall see how they fit.

I guess my point is, finding the perfect strap is a pain in the arse!!!!

Yup - hit and miss for me too. I once bought a 68/115 OEM croc strap thinking that it would be "shorter and fit better" than the standard 75/115. Well - thats not really true. It shifted the buckle more centre, but the downside was that the tail looked much shorter, it came with only one keeper - which I don't like, and finally, the shorter 68 has NO bearing on the hole fitting at all...which was what I was looking for in the first place. Learning by mistakes...!

I care

The Lum has a longer lug whereas the Rad has a shorter one, so for the buckles to sit at the same spot on the same wrist, one of the straps has to be abit longer than the other... In this case, it has to be the Rad, due to the shorter lugs.

Great pix Mik.
