Can't decide on one??
I just purchased another Rolex last week. It's a brand new
18K/SS Sub with Slate Serti dial / Diamonds and Sapphires. A really nice watch that I use around the office and to wear out on business trips. Don't want to be too flashy with the Pres. I wanted it originally as a knock around watch, but after it arrived, I decided it was just too nice. What would be a really dependable total use watch. One that does not cost as much as this Sub did ($8,025.00). One that I can take to the ranch and work fences, swimming at the river, working on my vehicles, and one I would expect some pretty good wear and scratches!! And no, I don't want a Timex. I do have my limits. I really don't know much about all the various Rolex models. Most I am learing here since I started posting a few weeks ago. I know I'll probably get pistol whipped by some of you, but GMT's, Sub's, Explorer's, they all basically look the same. What are the differences between them, and which one would work best for what I just mentioned? I'm sure I will want an all Stainless band, but after that I'm lost. I've seen a basic Sub in the $4K range. But I just bought one. Your comments. Thanks!! |

As a real tough, everyday classic Rolex I would go for the SS Sub Date, if I were you
What you need is there, what you don't is not

The new Sub no date is really really nice, and COCS certified.

Since you asked..
It's easy to just get another Sub....I might do that, or maybe not... For what you describe, that bezel insert is going to take a beating...Both the Air King and the Explorer have the exact same movement and they don't have a bezel insert to beat up..The price range is about the same. Or you could step up to the EXP II...With it's stainless steel bezel and it's extra hand, it will take more of a physical beating than the Sub, and if you are running into the next state, with about a 5 second procedure, you can change to the new time zone. Very Practical.. We could o into pre-owned DJ's too, pretty dependable and work horses, not just office attire.. Hey, roll some dice,.. eeny, meeny, miney, moe, you can't go wrong with any decision.. |

I got my SS Sub first and loved it. 10 years later I decided to get another Rolex. I loved my Submariner so much, I got the TT Blue Sub. Now I have both. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...or something like that. You could have the business watch and the weekender, with no drop-off in quality.
