Kid Camp

So I just spent three days chaperoning 5th grade camp.

With all the farts, burps and other issues associated with someone else's bad parenting, I simply want a quiet room where I can find my happy place.

People - watching your child lick his plate clean each meal is not cute and is certainly not adorable.

Just saying.

You're a brave man. What you just endured would be my definition of hell!

Yeppers. And I can't help but think the world owes me something now. But it's good as it's all part of parenting. I just needed to vent a little, though.

As someone who doesn't particulary like children - sounds like hell !!

I've heard my daughter on more than one occassion say - My dad hates all children apart from me ..... !!!

You should probably go out & buy a new watch (maybe something in solid gold) to make yourself feel better. You've earned it.

Yikes.....it takes a brave sole to be subjected to adolescent nonsense. But I love children so I guess I'm a glutton for punishment!!!!
Btw my son needs to find a lady to be his wife so I can become a grandfather.....

You bet. And I took it out in a canoe and up a 40 foot climbing wall. Funny thing is - I left it in the shower. Luckily, one of the kids came up to me and said 'is this your watch?' I almost dropped a load as I didn't know it was missing.

I think I'll start a 'don't take your watch into the shower at your son's 5th grade camp' post.

Agreed . It's so sad when parents don't take discipline and respect responsibly .

The problems really start when they grow up and find this place!!!

It was my GMT IIc. And as little Johnny-boy handed me the watch, all I could think about was how I was brilliant enough to leave an $8k-plus timepiece in a YMCA camp shower room.
