ANOTHER new PAM.....
saw this just now on p.com.....another new PAM!
on panerai's Web site, a new model in the style of the 372 is shown. when you click on "discover more" it just brings up info on a design show, so, no additional info seems to be available (i got these pix using the snipping tool). for ease of comparison....... |

Nice! Tempting, but I like the simplicity of the 372. PR indicator it sweet though.

...hmmmmmmm. Wonder what Panerai is doing?
Random models coming out all the time. 47mm's everywhere. What the hell is SIHH for?

I love the power reserve indicator and the overall looks of the watch and movement is stunning.
I do love how Panerai is always progressing and releasing new stuff, they are not sitting still kicking out the same old stuff like Rolex.

Too much of a good thing for me. This and the 390, along with all the SIHH 2011 releases which haven't seen the light of day yet are a bit overwhelming, and I'm less excited about everything OP is putting out as a result.

This is spoiling everything else. The 372 is a must have of the year and now I feel they may spoil the suspense for those who are waiting for the 372. If that doesn't come out this year, it may end up like the 339 where people just lose patience.

I don't see how Panerai can keep this pace of releases. Either they will run out of fresh ideas or their customers will grow numb to the variant of the week.

I guess I can't blame Panerai for milking it while they can.
I'd love to see something TRULY unique from them, though. Completely new case design for one ... |

that's a good question!! i've only been around PAM for about 9 months.....is this how panerai typically operates? releasing random models throughout the year?? Quote:
yes, the watch is quite nice. maybe not as "striking" in the historical sense as the 372, but, the design makes total sense and is not at all unexpected. the PR indicator is a nice touch. Quote:

well, to be fair, compared to a number of other mass-market watches, panerai's catalogue is still pretty limited, no? i mean, look at the infinite DJ variations out there for rolex. did anyone think panerai would make the new case for the 372 and not add a second model with a seconds hand? and, then a GMT? maybe they could space it out and release models on an annual basis, but, richemont clearly wants to develop and expand the brand, and there seems to be a market for it. so, the only problem is figuring out what we really like.... |

this is why i'm losing interest towards panerai, took a look at rolex.., their new subs/gmt are awesome.. happily let go some of my pams to fund the pair LV LN subs, never looked back.
also, the community here at trf is much nicer too. |

I don't get what you mean. You have Luminor, Radiomir, Submersible. You can't really change the case design radically and have it be a Panerai. I just looked at the Rolex page, they're all the same case design like they always have been. I don't get it.

Would pretty much be one of the 4** boutique editions.

Actually, isn't the 372/422 a new case design? Or, at least, a modified 1950s case? |
