The items non watch related I have purchased in less than pleasant geographical areas were done with the knowledge that I will blow my $. I was prepared to risk this against the intrinsic value normally placed on these items. Some items I purchased were good some were sub standard.

But these items hold memories of where I have been over the years and have history for me and my family.

Do what ever you can within the laws of the land where you are now to re coupe what ever you can. Putting aside the hit squad.
Duly noted on all fronts.

It's not like this is the first "bhat" item I've lost out on, it's just the first time we've dabbled in rolexes.

As for the laws of the land... I think a hit squad is actually well within the guidelines of the culturally accepted here.

Thanks for the opinions, I was actually hoping for a little more specific criticism that I could cite when trying to get my money back, but apprently that may have been a little much to hope for from a community of purists. C'est la vie.

P.S. For the guy who cited my profile... Really? I live in one place, spend most of my time working in another.

You may have asked for this before you did this, so its seems moot at this point of your 'story'
I hope you are paid well in your profession as it seems you can buy things like this "impulsively" and not really do its due dilligence (spell) ...

Screaming troll'ish to me. Obvious fakes. Says he ordered them from a catalog and paid full retail? Not all that upset about finding out they are fakes? Very nonchalant about the entire situation.

My bs-o-meter is sounding the alarm.

I read up extensively on what to look for in a replica... And, frankly these watches in person meet almost every "sniff test" I read about. I was hoping to tap a broader wealth of knowledge here, not encounter a group of snide elitests.

There was no due diligence to do... and luckily I can afford to walk away from situations like this without being upset.

Dear Prestor John,
I have a deal for you. 30K which means nothing to you, would mean the world to me...so much so that I will be more than ecstatic to sell you my EXCLUSIVE Blue Bezel Ceramic Sub PLUS a bnib WG Blue Sub Dial for 30K. It is a real Rolex. I have the box and papers. Please note that the Bezel insert is a mod and Rolex will not service it although all the independents will. Not only will I sell you my beloved Blue Sub I will throw in for FREE...that is right for FREE my V series GMT II C with box but no warranty card. Both are 100% Authentic. I am totally serious. Just pm me. This would make you not only a Rolex owner but a rather exclusive Rolex owner.

i think the tone of this thread has gon a bit off .
if the thread was moved to watch out , and asked if these watches were real , a lot of the to and frow would have been done away with , the op would have answers , and everyone would be playing nice.
so ... wether its just the op who feels awkward for not knowing the format of the forum and doing some postureing , or wether its a lot of people here not knowing how little others know .... well im not sure
on think i am sure of , if your playing sneaky you dont blow 30k to keep a low profile.
if your after bling , you dont buy black rolex
just my thoughts

Maybe I am just not on my A-game today, but I am going to go against the "grain" here and say they look legit (from the pictures posted).

The only glaring discrepancy (to me) would be the aftermarket bezel on the Milgauss, but that could have easily been replaced. Certainly not a huge leap to take on a modified (DLC) watch.

The Sub looks fine to me as well, just a little beat up/scratched. If there are any obvious, glaring tells from the pictures posted, please enlighten me.

To the OP: If you have a minute, it might be worthwhile to remove the bracelets on both and photograph the case engravings. Then cross reference with the SN on the warranty card, and rehaut of both watches. Also, at your earliest convenience I would try and find another Jeweler/watchmaker (any AD's nearby?) to crack the case backs and verify/authenticate the movements (again, take pics if possible).

Just my $0.02. YMMV.

Actually the bracelet SEL's of the Sub seem to be nice and flush to the lugs which is not typical of a replica. The easiest way to tell is just unscrew the crown and pull out to change the time. If you rotate the crown clockwise what directions do the hands move? Do they move counterclockwise or clockwise? Simple test to see if it is an ETA movement

Everyone is on the fake bandwagon, but I don't see it. I see a Badly mod'ed Milgauss, with a machined out bad bezel, and a scratched up Sub C. Please enlighten us those who are yelling fake.

I don't even think the Sub is scratched up...it looks to me like the protective plastic may still be present and or finger prints all over the thing...maybe even flash photography which picks up stuff like that and makes the pictures look bad.....I would like to see the bracelets off showing serial numbers and maybe even the case backs removed......I am not convinced that they are not what they are supposed to be.....having said all that I own neither, so I bow to those that do, you will have a better chance of spotting anything wrong (beyond the very obvious colour and bezel change of course)

gotta say that i'm more concerned with the 'easy come, easy go' care free attitude of the OP than the state of the bracelet. so much $$$ to throw away, your not a banker by any chance

Btw BFAM, your Sub ain't in the catalogue either!

I'd take it easy on him though, the last thing you need is a south American death squad to visit.

When i turn the crown clockwise, the hands move clockwise.

Thank you guys for all the feedback towards the end of this thread. When i touch down stateside I'll have them looked at by a a RSC.

As for death squads... I'm pretty easy. I just wanted some educated input on whether these watches were legit.

As for me losing money? I am a relaxed guy, what can I say? I've been oin enough message boards to know when I'm not getting really valid input and to wait for some more measured responses.

If the hands move clockwise when you turn the crown clockwise that is the real deal then. ETA movements are the opposite...Turn crown clockwise and hands move counterclockwise in ETA....My offer still stands on the 30K
