Rolex not supplying USA until January?
Just got back from the local Ben Bridge, as I still have yet to see the white dial Explorer 42 in person. Not only did they not have one in stock, but the guy behind the counter told me that Rolex has ceased shipments to the US for the rest of the year on all Rolex. Anyone heard anything similar?

I remember reading once that Rolex HQ has a holiday period at around this time (or abit later) of the year, so there will be no delivery.... Until sometime in the new year...

Although when I happen to go into BB, the fine staff always makes me laugh. They seem so clueless sometimes.

Another reason for an AD to not discount much or at all.

Yep true story, all the EXP2's were allocated to US Boutiques... In NY shops like Wempe, William Bartham and Tourneau won't see them until later this year, early next year...

My AD just got a big load of Rolexes this week and says he's getting more next week so don't know why the biggest buying season would shorten supply? Rikki

Didn't a place in Florida already get 4 about a month ago? I remember reading a few threads about that on here and there were a few first hand witnesses.
The ad I use said he will get weekly or bi weekly shipments for the rest of the year. |

Tourneau at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island has a black dialed Explorer 2 orange hand in the case. I tried it on Saturday.

Yes, I tried a few on. I know that they had sold 4 and had at least 3 more in the store when I was there. But it is a Rolex boutique.

Sounds like a way to drive up the price on existing pieces before the holidays.

Rumors of shortages have been circulating throughout the AD network for at least a month. One sales lady told me to expect a shortage of SS Subs per Rolex USA.
It seems that there is a lot of confusion among ADs and frankly I think they are as much in the dark as anyone. The owner of my AD when I went in to order 14060M wasn't sure that the watch was still being manufactured. I insisted that it was and he said he'd check it out. The last time I went in I went with intention of putting down about a 50% deposit on one and he told me then that they were definitely in production. I said simply, "I know." So, I now have been told that within about four weeks from last Friday, I will have a brand new 14060M in my possession. The last time they told me I'd have a four week wait, the watch came in in 5 business days. I sure hope I get that lucky this time!

Got the call today from my AD (not a boutique) that my 42mm EXP came in today. I asked what dial color and they said one of each. Went down to take a look and could not decide so I purchased both. Will have them on Saturday. Shipped to my out of state address. Will post pics of both by Monday.

Nice, so this Ben Bridges associate must have had bad information or trying to sell the watches in the case?

My AD called me yesterday. I saw the Exp II in white.
I had to pass, I purchased 2 watches in the last two weeks. :(

The local Ben Bridge here told me they had a large shipment coming in early next week and that would be their allocation for the holidays. The next one would not arrive until late January, early February.
They were "hoping" they would have the new Explorer II in that shipment and would call me when it arrives. The "manager" said he had no waiting list for the watch and few if anybody really asking. We'll see.... |

My AD had told me when I purchased the Ceramic Green Sub that last year he went into the Holiday season with only 3 Subs. The year before he had 17. He said that he honestly did not know what Rolex was going to ship him. He was absolutely concerned that he would not get the number of Subs that he needed for the holidays. I think that is why he had the Ceramic LV in the safe Strange business model, not shipping watches that can knowingly be sold, I just don't understand it.

My AD is Dallas received a white Exp II this week. They're expecting a black one soon but it is already spoken for. They don't know when another shipment will arrive.

As far as I have been told (and read on various forums), AD's don't know when to expect new watches. Ever. Rolex doles them out in whatever weird pattern they've been using for years.

The AD I use had a white ExII 42 for me to look at. It was purchased already, but he called and confirmed he could get me another one by Xmas, in one of the ~3 shipments they should get by then.
