My two GMTII's
I just received a GMTII-C to go along with my traditional GMT. Review and comparison will be in the coming weeks. The GMTII-c is a much different watch than the GMTII. After 36 hours of ownership, this one is a keeper. I could not say this about the SeaDweller, TOG, and two Subs that I have owned. -Sheldon

Old and new generation GMT's!
Very nice! You're a lucky man! Looking forward to reading your review! And YES, that new GMT II seems to be a winner judging from all the excellent comments it has received from new owners. For instance, Mike's GMT II is STILL spot on! Quite amazing! BTW: Cool stands!

Big congrats! The two references compliment each other quite well. Can't wait to here your thoughts on the similarities and the differences and the accuracy of the GMT IIC.

Sheldon,
I'd be interested in your bracelet set up since we have the same wrist size of 6.5 inches. How does the bracelet center with the Daytona clasp? |

Great stuff, Sheldon. By "C", I presume you mean Ceramic?

6.5" wrist impressions
With my 6.5" wrist, the clasp seems to center pretty well. Unlike the Sub/SD's and any of the watches with the traditional (tuna can?) clasps, the last of the links on the 6:00 side screw to the clasp and not riveted. One can take all the links off the 6:00 o'clock side and move the clasp over to the 6:00 side. I did this at first, but found the clasp over too far. I then put a link back. The clasp is centered, but the hinge is over towards the 12:00 o'clock side just a smidge too far, but its certainly livable.
Perhaps the biggest difference is the half link extension in the clasp. There are only three micro-adjusting holes rather than the typical 4 (or 5 on the Traditional GMT), but the half-link acts has a 4th adjustment hole. I have one link on the 6:00 oclock side, and two on the 12:00 side, and the bracelet on the first (tightest) hole, and I make microadjustments throughout the day by flipping the half-link in the clasp. The watch head is heavier than the traditional GMT (closer to a Sub) so I have preferred the band to be tighter so there is not too much watch flop. Yes, JJ. GMT-C for composite.... Review in a couple of weeks.... there are two other big projects I have to get off my desk first.... -Sheldon
