Armed Rolex robbery

Hello everyone.

Recently a gun robbery happened in Iceland at the local AD (Michelsen Watchmakers). The owner, the shop manager and a salesperson were threatened while two robbers broke display cabinets and took all the displayed Rolex-es and Tudors from the cabinets.

This happened in less than 1 minute and was highly organized robbery where three stolen cars were used. No one got hurt but the "victims" were pretty shaken after the events.

Thankfully, the police in Iceland is top-notch and one of the robbers was apprehended with all the watches, total of 49 pieces, 8 days after the robbery. They came from Polland and the rest of the robbers are now wanted by Interpol but they escaped the country less than 24 hours after the robbery.

This is the biggest robbery in Iceland in recent times and only the third gun robbery in history of Iceland. According to the media in Iceland, this robbery is considered one of the biggest Rolex robberies in Europe of all time and is very similar to other Rolex robberies that have happened for the last few years in Europe.

Normally Iceland is a very peaceful country where the crime rate is considered very low. The police does not wear guns and there is no army there. But things are changing now, criminal organizations from East Europe are looking towards this peaceful island in the North Atlantic as this robbery clearly proves.

Sorry to here that .. who would figure this would hapen in Iceland but the way things are happening in the world with the World Economy ... people are becoming desperate..
This probably wouldnt have happened ten years ago ..

Sorry for the AD - Good thing the police caught one of them. We had a string of similar incidents here and the police apprehended the culprits just a month ago but not until several Rolex sellers were hit. Good to stop these predators quickly.

I'm quite surprised such crime can reach to Iceland. But I'm glad the law enforcement is doing its job well, and that the watches have been recovered.

Too bad it will be followed by strengthened security at the AD's. I just hate to walk in while a huge guy in suits staring at me, and the sales lady opening the thick bulletproof glass door with a remote...

It's sad to hear, but the world isn't becoming a better place as with the economy people are becoming more daring and ruthless.
