IPhone 4s. Are you happy/unhappy with it ??

I guess it's time to talk about what's good and what's not good regarding the mighty new phone for Apple. I will wait to get mine in the USA next month so that I can save some money with the exchange €/$ rate but I want to be sure I'm getting one solid and reliable device. Just read about some poor battery performance,is that true ?? Did you notice any upgrade from the standard 4 model ?
I'm happy about my HTC but I have to admit when you handle an iPhone the damn thing oozes quality...

I'm also struggling with the iPhone/Droid debate. The new motorola razr and samsung Nexus with the newest android os and large screens are very appealing, but than again, I'm already an iPhone guy and the transition would be seamless. The change in the iPhone traditional timeline is also confusing. At least with the Droid, I know that the next best thing is only 4-6 months away. Though, that could also be a negative. Apple used to be annual, now, ??

I prefer the iPhone to the Droid. I am a Mac user, so if you have the entire 'eco system' going, it's a sweet thing. However, even on it's own, the iPhone to me, is a smoother experience than the droid.

Got the 4s yesterday (and got the Samsung Galaxy Note too).
So far i am not excited but i am not unhappy with the iPhone either. Samsung outperforms iPhone on screen, speed, camera (a front 2MP vs VGA on iPhone - same 8megapixel on rear), a great stylus that does a lot of things and does them accurately (what a great little gadget) whereas iPhone is still ahead on the apps department.

I am very happy with the performance of Siri on the iPhone though...there are some similar apps for the Samsung Note though but not as good yet...just waiting for the new Ice Cream Sandwich OS for Android in order to draw a more concrete conclusion about which one is the best...although being an Apple fan i am not likely to completely switch from Apple to Android altogether.

A definite minus point for the 3.5 inch screens from Apple. They really have to do something about it. For the hardcore smartphone dependent professional the Apple iPhone needs to either make a new category to cater for the needs of Smartphone users who do not have enough space for a Tablet yet they need a screen (either 4.3, 4.7 or 5.3 like the latest Samsung Galaxy phones have had), or just upgrade the existing model. It will be a joke if iPhone 5 does not have a model with a bigger screen.

In my opinion iPhone 4s is not worth the upgrade from iPhone 4 especially if Siri is eventually released for iPhone 4. Also my point is that at the moment there are some great phones available such as Samsung Galaxy Note in particular (that being said by someone who is all things i (iPhone, iMac, iPad)).

I've handled the 4s and I like it. It was fast, no doubt. But I still would choose a Droid. The Nexus is coming out soon,

It's an interesting "debate" with passion on both sides.
I've had both (currently using an iPhone 4) and both had their pluses and minuses. I think that the Droids are slightly more advanced while the iPhone just operates perfectly.
In the end there really isn't a wrong choice and to suggest that there is comes down to splitting hairs, IMHO.
-reminds me of Rolex vs Omega or Sub vs GMT!

I have no regrets with buying the 4S. Its better than the 4 in every way that counts for me.... Processor, camera (not just mp but faster lens for low light conditions) and Siri. The battery life could be better but I can live with it.

Another happy iphone4s user. I also came from Blackberry and there's no comparison. Such a smooth device.

Battery life has been fine for me...even improved with the latest software update.

Checked out the iphone 4s. Not worth the upgrade if you have the iphone 4, mostly for me because the screen is just too small with the other offerings.

Apple really need to push it to 4.3 but I guess by that time the others would have something better again.

I looked at the Samsung Note as well. It is MASSIVE. Yannis, on a practical level, is it even usable? That thing is huge! I don't think it can fit comfortably in my pockets!

3GS to 4S is worth it, 4 to 4S, not so much...That said, of course I did the upgrade from 4 to 4S, just because

I agree a 4 to a 4s is a waste in my opinion. I guess most people who've got an iphone 4 are probably still fixed in their 18 month contract hence the not so big change.

I think I'm ditching my Iphone 4 in favour of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I think maybe apple have maxed out and may go the way of the sony walkman.

How can the move from a 4 to a 4s be a waste? Its a better phone so that can't be it.

I paid $343.44 (including the $18 upgrade fee) for the 4s and sold my 4 for $400 cash. I made money to get the 4s so that can't be it.

Anyone want to explain it to me?

I just didn't feel the leap to the 4s was worth it. I've upgraded my 4 to OS5 and as far as I'm aware the only difference is a slightly better camera, faster and Siri.

If you've made the change, what do you feel the benefits to having the 4s are?

If you really got that much for your 4, or even close, then I'll definitely upgrade, did you sell it on Craigs List?

Yeah, I'm a PC guy and a Droid man. My wife has the iPhone 4s, she's had it for two weeks and loves it. I've played with it quite a bit and I really prefer the Droid. I love Siri and I think packaging and ergonomics are apples forte, but I think you can get a comparable Droid much cheaper (save Siri).

I posted on craigslist and had $400 cash in hand within 2 hours. Its also where I've sold my previous iPhones. You can get an idea of pricing by searching the for sale section of their site. We have a lot of international tourists looking to bring phones back to their native countries. I had a black 32gb so thats what searched. Pricing was between $350-$425 depending on condititon.

Make sure you put a firm price and don't mention obo or else it will get flagged by someone who has too much time on their hands. Make sure you state local pick up and cash only. It helps reduce the responses you will get... most of which are scammers telling you a story about how they want to buy it for their pastor doing missionary work in Africa.

New Design, bigger screen, more flexibility regarding copying files on/off, larger storage capacity, removable memory media... to name a few.

I just think it was a half hearted attempt at a new phone. Maybe all of the media hype surrounding the 4S made me feel it was more than just a facelift.

They should've more than doubled the speed, improved both cameras dramatically, made it a world phone, put in a twice-as-fast GSM radio, doubled the stock storage, and kept the price the same without messing with the form factor of my existing accessories.

Oh wait...

Look at Apple's history on all their products and you would know not to expect a redesign within a year. They would piss off their primary customer base in the process. A larger screen is all but guarantee for the iPhone 5. I'm not sure what more flexibility regarding copying files means. As far as larger storage, I'm sure thats coming. How much more do you need? 64gb is pretty big and that was also new. Removable memory is not an Apple thing. I'd be surprised if you will ever see that.
