Yes Cleveland We Have A Rolex...............
Been working the Cleveland airport on and off for the last couple of months. Today I had a contractor deliver some products and noticed the foreman wearing a beautiful blue dial Air King. It looked great. I already considered this guy a hard working, on the ball, go getter. He told his wife he always wanted one and damned if she didn't buy one for him.
ATTENTION JJ! The 34mm AK looked great. Not too small at all. Although he did say he wanted a DateJust. I told him there just like M&M's. If you get one you always want more. dP

Good story. Once I learned more about Rolex it has become easier to spot them and a lot of fun. I saw a guy in IHOP today with a great looking Sub on. I have never seen and Air King in the wild. Nice to know that it didn't look too small. I wondered about that since we have all grown accustomed to seeing 40mm or larger. Good for that foreman also, probably a great guy.

He's a great guy and has saved my a$$ many times so far. I think even more of him after seeing the Air King.

I really like the AK and I have considered buying one of the old-type AK's with a silver dial.

Funny thing JJ. When I found out it was an Air King the first thing I thought was; doesn't look small at all. The second thing I thought of was; JJ should see this. dP

The classic designs have a lot of staying power.
I recall seeing a recent issue of Details where Orlando Bloom was on the cover with a SS Exp I. The photo info credited the various clothing, i.e. Shirt by Versace, etc, and then the last line read; "Watch: Rolex, his own." That simple Exp I looked the business, simple is sometimes the way. As for spotting in the field, best spotting grounds I've ever seen here in Canada is Montreal. Yikes. Rolex-o-rama. Best, C |
