The last time I watched a basketball game was about 20 years ago when someone gave me some free Knicks tickets at MSG. I wont miss the game at all.

I do too. it amazes me that the words "unfair," "harsh," "due process," and "charade" are being thrown around when a handful of "men" are trying to figure out how to split up over $4 billion dollars. Although if you read some of these tweets from the players, its no doubt they can't come to an agreement: http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011...fer/?hpt=hp_t1

"@jcraw55
Jordan Crawford
Think I'm bout to get this Degree!!"

Yikes.

I remember Latrell Sprewel said "NO THANKS" to the Bucks for $21M for 3 years. He said that he has family to feed.

No NBA team hired him to play that year and after and after. Then I read it in the news that he was filing for bankcruptcy and put his house into forclosure. Go figure.

The arrogance of David Stern ruined the NBA for me a long time ago.

Too bad regular guys (vendors and such) will lose out on their regular potential income by cancelling the season. Just millionaires fighting with billionaires. Sad really

it's annoying, yes, and sad for the little guy, as marcus said above, but what i find amusing is all the negative press about what's being done to "the game".....pro sport work stoppages are common and each time the sport comes back. in the end, the quality of the game wins out.

I tend to agree. Once this is all finally resolved most fdans will forget this even happened in a year or two. I do find these work stoppages annoying though and the amoutn of money these players are paid (even league minimum) is a bundle of money and they should be happy they have the athletic ability that affords them such a great lifestyle.

I agree. Who cares about a league that is so out of touch (especially the players) with their fans? I'll watch plenty of college ball and enjoy it more than the NBA.
Btw, the last time I enjoyed the NBA was when Miami lost in the finals. Now that was enjoyable!

who cares.....the players should get down everyday and thank god they can jump or they would be parking cars somewhere

If I'm not mistaken Hockey players took a pretty good pay cut about 3 or 4 years ago and the game continues on

It should not take $500 for a family of 4 to go to any sporting event and watch guys "dog" it on a Tuesday night in February

I have zero interest in the NBA. I have played and enjoy sports. College hoops are great, The NBA is some seriously over payed lucky men. I side with the owners is just about every work stoppage. This one is no different. I have not watched an NBA game in years and I rather like watching sports center with out the NBA highlights.

That has really annoyed me over the years. Prices for all sporting events are out of hand. The fans in all sports are willing to pay big bucks to go watch these games but honestly is it worth a whole weeks salary to take your family. That is an avg. American families aalry mind you. I think it would be great if fans of all sports revolted and stood some ground on how ridiculous sports salaries etc have gotten. The price to watch all pro sports has gotten out of hand. I am a big sports fan but I rarely go to live games unless I get a great deal or my wife's boss ends up giving me Yankee tickets.

I love watching how the owner/worker dynamic changes in an industry where the workers really have a fair level of weight to throw around.

I could care less if they never play again. Having said that, I hate it for the stadium employees, etc.....the common everyday worker just trying to make ends meet. I feel for them but not for the players. Never for the players.

Sadly, you are completely correct Marcus. The affect of no NBA for one season will have tremendous consequences on an already troubled economy. Many individuals and small businesses depend on these games for income.
