Never thought I ask this question?
After a year on the board I have seen many times where other members ask for opinions on what watch to buy. I am now reaching out to board for the same (never thought I would ) but I don't have any crazy watch friends to discuss.
I am torn between two pieces (that are on hold) and would like to get some collective feedback. Hulk (116610V) and DJII (116334) with Blue dial and Roman numerals. Hulk- it be my first Sub C - different with the green - not a lot in the wild DJII- it would replace the datejust that my wife now "owns" - dressy watch Please let me know your thoughts and feedback or would you suggest something else? thanks.

I woud go to the AD, try them both on, stare at them for 1/2 hour, maybe longer and then determine which one I could not leave without. When torn between two watches I obsess over them until I figure out the practical and special uses for each and weigh-out which one make more sense.

both are great choices......some might say the bezel of the DJII is a bit large and blingy, but, on the blue, i think it looks quite nice (though i would go with the index markers over the romans - looks cleaner and works better with the bezel, IMO). that being said, the hulk is awesome. i guess it comes down to if you want blue & slightly more dressy or green & sport.

Both great choices but I agree with Cru about the dial option on the DJII.
I'd sway towards the LVC first though...it's such a well made and interesting watch. Good luck.

I'm a bigger fan of the HULK, but depending on the other watches in your collection - it might make sense to go with the dressier DJ

Tell us more about yourself-age, lifestyle/occupation, dress habits (suit or casual?), etc. What you like is important but so is the context in how you will wear either of these watches. And then there is the possibility that a regular black dial sub may yet be better also.

Looks like we're split on the two watches just like you are. So I can see why you would solicit opinions on things to consider when making your choice.
As for me, I would opt for the LV. The uniqueness was something that appealed to me. It also seemed like a watch I could dress up or down. And lastly, when I tried it on it had a certain 'wow' effect. |
