Rolex Explorer 214270 - Just Got Back from RSC and Something Sounds Loose In Case

I had a watch not staying wound issue with my 2011 Rolex Explorer 214270 so I sent it to the Dallas RSC and they fixed it and sent it back about a month ago. Since then the watch works fine, but I've noticed that if I shake the case I hear a clanking inside almost like there is a penny loose inside of the case. Sounds pretty strange and I had a buddy compare it with his late model Milgauss and it is definitely not happening on his watch.

I know the new Explorers have some kind of new winding mechanism -- can anyone that has this model do me a favor and try shaking it next to your ear in multiple directions to see if the same things happens? the last thing I want to do is send it back to RSC dallas again! Oh man.

Thanks for the help!

I am pretty sure nothing should rattle inside of a Rolex. Send it back and have them check it out again.

I'd take it back - send it back.

There should be no clanking in a Rolex.

Sending it back or having another Rolex certified watchmaker inspect it is the only thing to do.

That happened to me once...I had a GMT II that came back from a RSC with a rattling sound. After two months I brought it to Rolex San Francisco and it took them all of 5 minutes to fix it. Sending it back or bringing it to another RSC would be the best, if not easiest, option....

Definitely send it back. I wouldn't wear the watch in the mean time just because I would feel it was rubbing on whatever and possibly causing damage. Just my .02
