Speedking (new arrival)
I've wanted one of these for awhile, but most I've seen have been either grossly overpriced (IMO), with refinished dials (a major no-no), or in less than stellar condition. Here is a ref. 6050 from about 1951 (SN 750,XXX) with Super Oyster crown, in near mint condition. Sorry, I don't have a movement shot yet, but it's running smoothly. I need to do a group shot of my 28-30mm Oysters.

Hello Adam!!
This is a lovely little watch indeed, with all of this special flavour of thar period, in which watches were the right size just to accomplish its tast of telling the time. A bit small for our present day standards, I feel them a delicious experience to wear them from time to time. I always find you have a very fine taste for old watches, and to furnish them with appropiate handsome sets of straps. As I told you in a PM, this watch reminds me of a little Oyster Royal which I found rather recently. Unfortunately I donŽt have pictures made yet, and I have it now at my watch maker, because after several days of trial, I discovered it was not working as nicely as I expected, but I feel it only needs a good cleaning and oiling. I will show it as soon as I get it back. Mine is reference 6144, black dial with gold indexes and steel case. Adam: Congrats on your new addition to your collection, and I wish youŽll enjoy it so much. Best cordial regards, Abel.

Man that is way cool. We tend to get hung up on the vintage Subs, GMTs, Daytonas, etc... and forget there's a whole world of vintage pieces that speak to the early years as well.
Nice score on a great example. |

Beautiful; I'm a big fan of the 2-4-6-8-10-12 Arabic number layout! (not sure if there's a more concise term for that)

Nice one Adam ....
.... and seems to be a really original survivor.
I'm a fan of the early SpeedKings although mine's a bit weathered |

Thanks, everyone. By the way, I mistyped in my initial post. It's a ref. 6020 (not 6050; the photo clearly shows the correct #). It's soon to be off to the watchmaker's for an overhaul, just to be safe.
