Icon2 Any Psychiatrists in house? What is wrong with me??!

As Xmas comes closer, my SO popped a recurrent question: 'So what is Santa bringing you this year?' (Ok, some background: sometimes I have bought toys and have Santa deliver them to me under Xmas tree on Xmas....she has seen how a good boy I have been for getting a Daytona, JLC and other goodies). Then it hit me: NOTHING

After the astonished look on her face, she asked why....and I could not come up with a logical reason.

By some strange (weird) issue, I do not have that burning desire to get that watch (like I did with my DJ...and DD...and Daytona...and JLC...and Daytona....and IWC....and...well, you get the idea). I do like the looks of the RG Daytona/ceramic but I am not willing to spend that amount of money for the 'luxury' of ceramic (Note: I do respect everyone's tastes, and for the members that have already purchased this model, kuddos; it is very nice indeed!). I would rather get another YG/strap Daytona and save a big amount of money. SS Sub (LV) looks very nice and at moments desirable, but then the urgency fades. Speedy Pro (moonwatch) also comes into the picture and fades away. Ditto for YG Daytona and SS Daytona-black dial.

...so, do I need therapy?? What would you do? Any watch suggestions??

Cheers!

Sounds like you need to wait until you are absolutely smitten with something - falling for a watch is as emotional as it is logical. You can't talk yourself into the emotional part.

I'm only an anesthesiologist though - I'm good for 5 minutes of conversation with my patients, at the MOST.

Gerardo- a few things:
1. Nothing is wrong with you- you have a bad case of the bug- it is simply in remission.
2. To kill the bug you must feed the bug- it is a giant appetite so feed it brother so get it back!
3. Rethink the Green SubLVC- got one a month ago and it is hard to take it off!
Good luck with the sickness- it never dies down and your friends here will help cheer you on as they are all sick like you and I. That is our reality....We must all live with it!

PS. Don't stay watch satisfied for too long you will make the rest of us second guess ourselves- Merry Christmas!!

This makes sense.

Maybe if you're smitten with two watches next year, your SO won't mind you doubling up, if this year you go without.

Too bad this forum doesn't have some kind of 1-800-GET-HELP hotline for this sort of thing.

I don't desire anything with these 3 around. I'm about 98% happy. I thank God everyday for not wanting more as I don't really want to spend more money on watches.

Oh, I do need to get a Moon watch again...then I'll be 100% happy.

I wouldn`t worry about the remission of the disease lasting too long,it is virtually guaranteed to return when you least expect it.

Thank you K. Problem is that I feel 'weird' with no hunt or target in sight. In the meantime I will follow your advice and rotate.

I'm not a psychiatrist but my next door neighbor is so I guess that qualifies me to give advice. The cure is simple....you need to buy me a new TT GMT for Christmas. Not sure exactly how that works but you will be cured! Glad to help.

Geraldo - try some modest "equipment changes" such as straps, natos, and inserts...
These can satisfy the obsession for a while and can give you the feeling that you bought a new watch for little cost.

Get youself down to a major shopping centre post-haste that has a load of high-end watch AD's and go through every one thoroughly. I guarantee you will feel that wonderful morphine-like possessive eurphoria starting to be mainlined straight to your brain!!

Oh, and be sure your Amex is clear!!!

Hoopla !!!

J. Alan

P.S. : I do not take morphine or any other drug - my anesthesiologist neighbor described the effects to me!

okay, i'll give it a shot........

your first post used the green arrow thing-y and had two green smiley's......clearly, and without a doubt, you NEED the hulk. your subconscious is practically screaming it! from what everyone says, it really grows on you.....come on, give it a chance, and i think you'll find yourself to be happy. isn't the chance of happiness better than not finding anything under the tree???

you can always flip it later for little to no loss, as the hulk is in huge demand.

Gerardo, looks like you finally achieved the 'watch nirvana'! In general terms nirvana is a state of transcendence involving the subjective experience of release from a prior state of bondage. I think I'm almost there but I still might need to get that AP Diver first.
