opening the caseback wont really tell much at all for 95% of watch buyers. especially first timers like yourself. would you really know what to look for??????

If you feel the "need" to open a caseback, don't buy it! buy from a reputable person or an authorized dealer.

Most people do not want their caseback opened unless absolutely necessary and by a skilled professional.

Do you see where I am coming from by questioning your motives on this subject? First you have $1500, then the next day $3000, you buy a vintage case and then say you just will give or throw it away?? Then you start this thread about a Sub, which then becomes a GMT?? I'm not trying to call you out but slow down a bit and wait for people to give you some advice before you rush to make a purchase. When given said advice you reply (and I quote) "I guess ill your advise guys ill just be sad and do with out a rolex". Sorry Xhype but you come across sounding like a little bitch to me with comments like that. Everyone is here to help you, and there is no doubt a great deal of knowledge and experience amongst the members of TRF. My fear for you coming across like you have been will not encourage people to offer that help and lead them to ignore your postings. I do understand but 1 do have 3000 save but soon the month is going to be up and i'll have to pay rent but i did buy a vintage watch case on ebay and i though buying a rolex for $1200 was a great deal but i just don't want to waste my money PLEASE UNDERSTAND I DID MAKE A MISTAKE BUYING THE CASE BUT I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF JUST LOOKING AT THEM I WANTED ONE BUT I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT SORRY IF IT SEEMS THAT I'M MISLEADING ANYONE BUT MY HEART IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE

I hear where you are coming from Xhype, trust me most of us have been there ourselves. Foremost, pay your rent and other necessary bills and just put away what you can for your eventual purchase. You don't want to be the guy with a Rolex on his wrist getting evicted for not paying the rent

What you are possibly failing to see is that everyone replying to your questions is just trying to help you. None of us want to see you spend $1200 of your hard earned cash on some piece of crap and loose your ass in the deal. I wish I could help guide you with your purchase more but my I myself am still in the learning process of all this. Rest assured though, there are plenty of experienced knowledgeable members on here willing to help you. Follow their advice and in the end you will end up with the right watch on your wrist

I think "xhype" that youll be more pleased with your first Rolex if you wait until you can have the one you really want. My advise to you is to wait a little longer and to do the right purchase when the time is right!
