Guys, I was very athletic. QB, played center field, sprinter, champion wrestler. I just could never put that darn ball through the hoop. I could pass and steal all day long, just couldn't shoot.

I stopped collecting about 8 years ago, so couldn't help you on the Yeezys. All of my Js are either originals or the first retro version, and for the most part are DS and size 12s. I'll upload some pics to Picasa and post them here when I fire up my laptop later this weekend (on the iPad right now).

Im not disparaging its just one of those things is life where I just dont get it. Not because there isnt a point just that its something I never fathomed.

Oh, and this is from someone who had like 3-7 as well as some fly pumps. Cant say I ever wanted to keep any of them, in fact they couldnt be trashed fast enough after about 5-6 months

So I see we have very similar taste in kicks, originals are a must the retros are just for fun you're a 12 so we can't work anything out there but how about your 1655?

Most people in the watch world know about Mike Wood, however, for those in the sneaker world Mike Geller is one of the few gents out there with a complete collection of Nikes. My fellow sneakerheads here already know

Jordy doesn't have a complete collection of Nikes, not that he couldn't if he really tried. I'm assuming he does not want every plain Jane version they ever made.

He does have probably the most complete collection of highly desirable/iconic versions around. Just trying to get every version of the Air Force 1 and Dunks alone is probably an impossible task. Those two designs alone account for a few thousand different versions combined, with more coming out every month.

What's crazy is he has people willing to pay the $23.23 entry fee to see his collection (subtract $5.00 if you're sporting Nikes). So it's like he's accruing interest off of his investment in his collection......

I collect the same size he does. Maybe I should drop him a note and see if he's interested in acquiring my collection........

Yes I should have stated a complete collection of desireable Nikes if you are going to try and sell him your J's you might be disappointed because he already has multiple pairs of every Jordan shoe produced but you never know... They have to be grade A mint (never touched the ground, etc.) worst case scenario there is always the flight club route

Well, he has said in interviews that he's bought and sold a 6-figure number of pairs of Nikes, so who knows.........

Compared to these shoes from the 90s, today's basketball shoes are downright ugly. Have you seen what LBJ has been wearing the past few years??

The problem shoe manufacturers are having (much like the auto industry) is that there are not unlimited designs out there. The form factor of a shoe, just like a car, falls within a somewhat narrow range that people expect it to look and perform. You can only change color schemes and design variations a finite amount of times. That's a good portion of the reason why the retro versions of Jordans are so popular. They harken back to an era when the designs were considered innovative and avant-garde, not like the bastardized versions seen nowadays that take elements from different models and versions of iconic designs.

In my youth, this was THE basketball shoe.

I understand that in the UK they are called baseball boots.

Grady and Ken, Chuck Taylor's are still popular today, however, are not recommended to play sports in!

I can't see what makes people lose their minds over a pair of sneakers. I just don't get it.

Yes they were, and we were too poor for me to have a pair.
