submariner and sea dweller size difference

Just wanted to know if the submariner is the smaller one as comapred to the sea dweller?

If you're talking about the discontinued models (16xxx), they are both the same size at 40mm even though the sea dweller may appear to look a little smaller do to it's slightly smaller dial size.
If you're talking about the current ceramic bezel models the sea dweller (deep sea) is bigger (44mm) than the sub (still 40mm).

The deep sea was originally introduced at 43mm. The following year it mysteriously grew 1mm to 44mm without change!

I believe the Sea dweller case is thicker than the submariner.

Which looks better in your opion the Sea dweller or Sub with the smaller dial v bigger dial and the Sea dweller with the thicker case. Im looking at a sea dweller .

I think they both look great. For me it's not so much about how the Deep Sea looks, as much as how thick the watch is.

The dial on the SD is 1mm smaller than the sub,and the bezel on SD is 1mm wider than the sub but both 40mm. The sub date weighs 135 grams 13mm case depth, the SD 147 grams and 14.65mm case depth not a huge difference. SD has HEV a slightly thicker case, and case back and crystal plus polished bracelet sides and thats about it..

IMO, the Sub is classic in lots of ways, including its proportions. If you need SD dive capability or just really like the look, it's a super watch-- buy it. Otherwise, I'd go with a no-date sub.

Disagree, the proportions of the SD seem to be much better at fitting the golden ratio somehow.

Yer i cant decide . Im going to get a DSD then 1 of the 3 SD Sub with no date i find it to look better then the date
