Daytona date
For those Daytona owners out there, is the lack of a date a problem for any of you?

Besides the Daytona, I have a Speedmaster Pro, and a Pam 000. The lack of a Date is not an issue for me.

You get used to it. I have always had a date watch, and my Sub ND doesn't. One month in, its never been an issue.

This question should be posed to those who do not own a Daytona, IMO

Lack of a date function isn't really a problem on my non-date chronos. I just stop the sweep second hand on the minute mark that coincides with the date. Has to be advanced once daily, but no biggie.

Depends on if it's going to be your everyday watch. If it is, then a date function is a must IMHO.

Only when I need the date. In short, I look down at the watch and say "Oh Ya" and pull out my phone. It would be nice but I think the design of the Daytona benefits from the absence of a date aperature.

Not really, just require a second motion. Look at wrist, look at phone. :)

Nope. I actually know the date when I wake up every day.

I don't missed the date function as I tend to wear my Daytona when I go out for a spirited drive every sunday! Unless Rolex increase the dial diameter to match that of a Royal Oak Offshore, the dial will look too busy with a date!
My main watch is the Explorer 1 which I wear to work and not once I miss the date function. Even when I wear the PP 5127g, I don't even bother to adjust the date! |
