Icon9 How do you use your Rolex?

I just got my GMT Master II, and it stood out like a sore thumb. In fact, one of my students, a card-calling member of a notorious gang said, "Teach, you got a Rolls." I told him to sit down, and that he was mistaken. Fortunately, I had my Hamilton SS khaki in my computer case and made the switch. When another student came up to ask a question (verify the earlier observation), he said to the former student in question, "he ain't got no Rolls, fool." How many of you wear your "Rolls" and use it as it was intended to be used: worn daily? Some places just aren't safe to wear.

Cheers

Didn't know people spoke like that in Spain.

SD is worn daily, 24/7 when its tour of duty is on for a week (one week rotation for each watch)

Bought mine with intent to wear it daily, only off when shower and sleep. Or to change to other watches...

Yep!!

I wear mine everyday, except on work-out days, I wear my Seiko Orange monster (don't feel safe keeping my GMTII in the locker). I do martial arts, so no jewellery or watches.

So, it is almost always on my wrist except shower and sleep time.

My 2 other favourites JLC Master Moon and Zenith El Primero, has been sitting next to my winder.

My Sub is the only watch I wear. I don't wear it to the gym, in the shower, or to bed, but it's with me every other time (work, beach, out with friends). The safest place for my Sub is on my wrist, and that's where I love it most!!

I wear my SS Sub Date almost everyday. On the few days I haven't worn it I have on my SS Daytona.

The sub even goes with me in the shower, the most water it sees but I don't wear either one to bed.

That would be unfortunate to feel like you couldn't wear it when you wanted to. I guess for some of us it's fortunate that we can "carry" when wearing our watches.

Hola! Que tal??

Nice with a member from Europe!

To answer your question:

I wear my Rolex all day, also at work, but I don't sleep with my Rolex on my wrist.

Occasionally if I am in a seedy part of Dallas or Ftworth, for gas, grass, hokkers or dope LOL (joke). Seriously, omce I have to go to a Carnival grocery store in seedy Northside of FtWorth to the municipal court outlet for a speeding ticket, 81 in a 60 OUCH I took it off and put it in my pocket. I didn't wanna risk having to fight someone for it. Again once in a seedy part of ftw stuck in traffice and out of gas, I had to get gas at a shady gas station off the freeway and pre pay LOL, I took it off in the car then too.

I switch my sd weekly with my smp. and very possibly tt blue sub but ain't sure I can carry off the tt blue sub on a daily basis..

I have a strong preferance to sleep with my watches on.

If you can't wear it like any other watch, then you wasted your money.

As with the majority here, my DJ and SD take up 90% of wrist time, with the remainder being split between my Tudor chrono and my Ventura automatic.

The one and only time I felt uncomfortable wearing a Rolex was when Sash and I first returned to Melbourne from Singapore and were looking for a place to rent. We decided to look at a place in West Heidelberg, which pretty much resembles a war zone. The agent was supposed to meet us there and was running late, I took off my DJ and put it in my pocket and Sash and I stayed locked in the car. I called the agent and cancelled the viewing because we knew it was pointless and we just wanted to get out of there lickety split.

Wear the rollies all the time, except when traveling overseas.
Edit: I used to wear them when I went overseas, but got some grief from SeaTac customs when I came back from the Philippines this year so they go in the SDB if I do the long flights from now on.

I don't leave home without my TOG. It's with me everywhere, party, work, meeting, beach, pool etc.

It's part of me.

Tags serve many purposes. Content, though, must always be as real as the watch we wear.

I wear my GMT more than any other watch. But during the course of the week I will wear my Breitling Olympus and/or my Glycine Airman 9 once or twice. My DJs, DD, and JLC come out when I wear a suit or black tie (which these days is rarely).

I don't wear watches when I shower or sleep. And I don't do heavy maintence work so that's not a problem.

Safest place is on your wrist.
Bought it to wear it!
Start wearing it in the shower, gives it a good clean.
