Sudden rise in spam

Anyone else see a huge increase of spam lately? I'm getting tons of it, and a lot is coming from addys that are watch sites, including the purists. All I can think of is it's because my email addy is in my watch ads.

Luckily, I have a great spam blocker which at least cordons it off from the good stuff.

I have noticed a lot of spam for software. Our office (naturally) has an amazing filter, but some do get through, albeit in quarantine. Sign of the times I guess. Remember when we worried about spam faxes? LOL

Sadly, my wife watched some cooking show that showed a Spam cook-off with people using spam in a variety of recipies. Is that considered TV spam?

Well John Spam the tinned variety was always popular in my part of Wales. And when I was managing a Supermarket in the
mid 60s it was a very large volume seller.Suppose it was the poor mans ham then, but must admit I like it grilled, instead of bacon, for a good old full English breakfast.

Mr. Bun: Morning.

Waitress: Morning.

Mr. Bun: What have you got, then?

Waitress: Well there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam, spam, spam, egg and spam; spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam; or lobster thermidor aux crevettes, with a mornay sauce garnished with truffle paté, brandy and a fried egg on top and spam.

Mrs. Bun: Have you got anything without spam in it?

Waitress: Well, there's spam, egg, sausage and spam. That's not got MUCH spam in it.

Mrs. Bun: I don't want ANY spam.

Mr. Bun: Why can't she have egg, bacon, spam and sausage?

Mrs. Bun: That's got spam in it!

Mr. Bun: Not as much as spam, egg, sausage and spam.

Mrs. Bun: Look, could I have egg, bacon, spam and sausage, without the spam.

Waitress: Uuuuuuggggh!

Mrs Bun: What d'you mean, uugggh! I don't like spam.

And what about the Monty Python Bruce sketch your not a poofter are you
Bruce.

Everybruce: Australia, Australia, Australia, Australia, we love you amen!

Fourth Bruce:Bruce: Crack tube! (Sound of cans opening) Any questions?

Second Bruce: New-Bruce, are you a Poofter?

Fourth Bruce: Are you a Poofter?

Michael: No!

Fourth Bruce: No. Right, I just want to remind you of the faculty rules: Rule One!

Everybruce: No Poofters!

Fourth Bruce: Rule Two, no member of the faculty is to maltreat the Abbos in any way at all -- if there's anybody watching. Rule Three?

Everybruce: No Poofters!!

Fourth Bruce: Rule Four, now this term, I don't want to catch anybody not drinking. Rule Five,

Everybruce: No Poofters!

Fourth Bruce: Rule Six, there is NO ... Rule Six. Rule Seven,

Everybruce: No Poofters!!

Fourth Bruce: Right, that concludes the readin' of the rules, Bruce.

First Bruce: This here's the wattle, the emblem of our land. You can stick it in a bottle, you can hold it in your hand.

Everybruce: Amen!

I have noticed an increase both at work and at home. I hardly ever get any spam at home, but the last week or so I've won more lotteries and been offered more business deals than I can shake a stick at. Here at work, more and more is getting through the filter.....a lot of is is Russian based on the text.

I think mine is targeted. There's a lot with watch forum or manufacturer addys. But, whatever arse wipe did it can know that it all gets filtered and the only bother is to empty my spam folder. So take that you sodding wanker <imagine me giving the Brit version of the peace sign>!

Bruce .. just thought I'd take this opportunity to let everyone know TRF's email privacy policy.

I do not sell, loan or otherwise give out any members email address ... PERIOD. Matter of fact, on this website your email adress is protected and not viewable. Other well known forums display your email address if that option is selected. I would never risk the trust I have with my members by giving out email addresses to anyone.

Thanks Mark. Another reason this place is awesome. I have often wondered about my email addy security. Now I know.
