Yes, a few times.

Last night at a NYE party one of the guests noticed my new PAM 24 (which I'm rocking on a new vintage style brown calf strap) and stopped me to check it out and show me his 312. Other watches there were Subs and some IWCs.

I recently had a meeting with a guy at work and he was wearing a PAM - gorgeous. It looked good on him. I figured I might try it out too - and it looks cartoonish big on my wrist. I am still trying to get used to it... must be how a Rolex DSSD feels.

Ok, maybe the fact that it was the Panerai boutique may explain the coincidence
That's funny :)

I've yet to see one.

The first time I saw a Panerai in the wild was a Radiomir on the wrist of a foreign exchange student at my university. We were at a party at a high-end beachfront condo with some of the international students. I was very surprised to see the Panerai, since they really are not common watches. I told him that he had a very nice watch, and asked him if it was a Radiomir like I thought. He had no idea. It was just a gift from his dad. I admired it more closely, and indeed, it was a piece of beauty.... So he didn't know it was a high-dollar watch, but I think he still appreciated it because it was a gift, so all was well. :D

I see them here and there - not the same thrill of spotting one it was several years ago.

actually the other day in a business meeting, the guy across the table from me had a 104 on with a strange strap -
I talked to him later and turns out his hobby is making straps - has over a dozen just for his 104, all one-offs.
so that was cool

Ive seen several. The two guys I approched, didnt really know what they had. Kinda odd someone would "accidently" buy a Panerai.

I see them once in a while in Boston as well. It's always a treat to see someone wearing a nice piece but even better if they know what they have!!

Hello and welcome

It's a convention used by Panerai and stands for PA(nerai)M(odel) e.g. PAM 00312, PAM 00111, etc...

yup... remember seeing one guy at work wearing a 212 or 213 (a chrono) on a rubber strap. it was really beat up and the straps were worn to a point they looked shiny.

They have become so much more common in last few years. Like everyone else said, you run into people wearing them quite often in South CA or LA these days. In certain areas it's not uncommon to see at least 3-4 in a day.

Where I work it used to be lots of Rolex and a few Tags. However some of the younger guys have ditched Rolex for Panerai because the Rolexes (I love mine) look a little too old on a younger wearer and the PAMs are trendy and younger looking (just my opinion - no flames needed). I get more comments on my PAM 90 than my Rolex for sure too.

I saw a man wearing a PAM at the Gucci store, but I did not say anything to him. I have never seen one in San Francisco and I work in the Financial District. I see a lot of Rolexes though. I only wear my PAM 111 on Fridays though. During the week I tend to wear my Tags. I wear the Rolexes on the weekends.

I've only seen one other PAM and it was when I was in Florida at the BMW dealership. He was wearing a Submersible, not sure which exact model though.

I've never seen another PAM in Iowa, however.
