I'm a Rolex Man now !!!
Well guys and gals, I've been watching the forum for several weeks now, absorbing all the great advice and admiring all the great photos and have finally made my first Rolex purchase.
The Stainless Steel Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II Ceramic Bought it this afternoon from a local AD in celebration of my Crown Achievement (50th birthday on October 6). The only condition imposed by my wife is ...... I can't wear it until my birthday I did get the bracelot fitted and all the plastic removed and actually did wear it for about 5 minutes in the store. It is a beautiful watch and the weight/size on my wrist is perfect. I never thought I would actually look forward to my 50th birthday but I'm looking very forward to that day now ROLEX PROUD |

Excellent!
If she won't let you wear it, will she at least let you take pictures of it for us? I think this watch is next on my list.

Good for you. What a great way to celebrate the big 50! Warning: Rolex watches are like M&M's. Gotta have more.
Congrats & enjoy, dP

That's a sharp looking watch. The torture of waiting for it will make it that much more fun when you do get it!

Well as a fellow member of the over the hill set...
one nice thing that happens in your 50s (I'm 57) is that you get some of the things that you would like to have. I also have the new GMT II C, and it is a winner. Happy Birthday, and congratulations.

I'm sure the wrist shots will look even better! Can't wait! Congratulations again...and wear it in good health...so you can get the solid gold version for your 100th Birthday! Aloha! |

Since you have to wait until 6 October, I feel sorry for you if you are like some of us on TRF. You may end up flipping it, before it even gets on your wrist!!!!!

Congratulations on becoming a Rolex Man!
But you know what? You WERE a Rolex Man already BEFORE you bought it, my friend! The watch does not make the man!

Congradulations on your 50th. What's for birthday 51?
Boy, you must have the patience of Jude to not wear it until your real birthday. (Or did your wife threaten to take it back if you put it on?? )
Nawh, sounds like a great and fun relationship and something you can talk about long after. I splurged on my 50th and have never stopped. In that sense, it's great getting old. Welcome to the club. |

That's a great looking watch, alright. Thanks for posting the photos.
Me, I'd be tempted to wear it when the wife's out of the house.
