I am not sure why I needed this ...

But then again, why do I need a Rolex when I can just look at my Android? I found the anchor on eBay. It is still sealed in the original envelope. It has never been opened. The anchor compliments my new Submariner. Too bad Rolex discontinued the anchor, as it was a nice accessory.

My life is now complete.

Allen, I agree giving the anchor with Subs and SeaDwellers was a nice touch.....

There are several options:
  • Store it in my watch case, never to be seen again
  • Buy a very small yacht
  • Put it under my pillow for the Rolex fairy
  • Sell it on eBay for $1 more than I paid

I really don't know. I just wanted it.

Have you ever noticed how there are always several of those anchors for sale on eBay and there is never any shortage of them. When you consider that they were discontinued,I think well over a decade ago now, their constant availability seems odd to me.I`ve often thought that I would like one to go with my newer Submariner but the thought of ending up with a reproduction puts me off the idea completely. As far as I know there is no way to verify the authenticity of these anchors so I can`t buy one.

It makes a nice little trinket. But it would probably end up stored away somewhere and never used if it were mine.

I hope it didn't cost you too much because most of those anchors are not the genuine article that Rolex included with their watches.

Can you make a necklace out of it? Then you'd have a fish hook in a survival situation...

PS - I was tempted to buy one recently

I bought one of those anchors from eBay when I was 15. It's too bad they no longer come with modern Rolex divers.

Some of the older anchors sell for big bucks.

Exactly, it's a simple casting to do. But then considering that most folks just want one and throw it in a drawer, does it really matter?
