My first Rolex purchase ever

Posted this on the gallery page, but mahybe makes more sense here.

So, here's my first Rolex purchase ever. I'm pretty excited, though it looks terrible right now.

I also bought this gen dial, which will go into the watch.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Thanks. It's always been my dream to own a Rolex. Even though it's pretty weak compared to those on here, it's a start, and I think it'll look good.

There is no such standards. You buy what you like and can afford. Thant's all that matters. Buying your first Rolex is a gateway to more purchases so don't sweat it.

Congrats. That looks like water damage...if you haven't done so you need to get that watch checked out by a watchmaker.

DON'T GET RID OF THOSE HANDS!!!! Dauphine hands are wonderful and hopefully someone can clean them up and "restore" them a little.

The auction said that the movement was tested and in very good condition, watch has been pressure tested.. seller has very good feedback.

Based on the name on the pics I wouldn't worry about the seller as he wrote this:

Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History
James M. Dowling (Author), Jeffrey P. Hess (Author)

He has a great store and is a very nice person.

This watch is an absolute classic, and the new dial should look great in it. Congratulations!
