Basel World 2012 Collection

A rainbow daytona

Love the ND, thats going to be a hit, no more need for a sea dweller

the Sky Dweller is just odd looking

YM looks like a hit

The rest look nice with the touch of color

Overall assessment: Thumbs down. Looks like most of new models are blinged out and the Sky Dweller looks asthetically awful IMHO. If you like diamonds, rubies and other stones you are happy but other than the ND Sub nothing stands out to me. So the good news- no wallet pain for me from Rolex out of the 2012 collection.

Also disappointed. The bejeweled pieces do absolutely nothing for me. Sky-Dweller is ok at best, never been a fan of the YM, I guess I'm with Ken - the ND Sub is about the only decent piece and it was highly predictable at that.

Sigh on Rolex, however, I'm with DP and Ken on the Tudor offerings!

Sky dweller i think it will take time to grow on a lot of people...its a newly designed watch...The functionality i think is impressive...The Ring command is just so cool!!! But the design...Ummmm it may take time...But it is really cool how the watch was made just the dial design makes me think a little bit more...but who knows...

But one thing for sure Dan that Tudor has come up smelling of roses again while Rolex smelling of well no comment might have to ban myself.

Agree on Tudor > Rolex.

Ceramic ND is no way to treat an icon. Imagine if Omega would discontinue the Moon watch.

The Black Bay on the other hand

Watch it, pal!

Peter, you get extra points for the Tudor "smelling of roses" pun.

What is new about the YM?

New clasp might be only, but even Rolex.com doesn't even mention that in their website.

What a disappointment............no new releases would have been way better than the sorry ass new designs. For once, Rolex should have taken its cue from Breitling when it came to the SkyDweller.
