Hulk vs. GMT

Honestly, if you have read any of my previous posts you will see that I have my heart set on a GMTIIC. My only slight hesitation is I feel I may get sick of the bold numbers all around the bezel. Other than that I love it.

I keep, for some reason ending up at hulk pictures and loving it. It seems so sporty, and kind of care free. I think it would look way better with casual atire, and I think the GMT would be better for more formal work stuff.

Having said that I think its a moot point because that unusually elongated glide lock clasp simply looks strange on my small wrist, i think it covers half of the circumference of my wrist. I like the glide lock concept tho. But I think the half link extention in the gmt should be a treat, since I am use to a dj with no quick adjustment capabilities.

I know this is a lot of babbling but my feelings towards the purchase are complicated. I think someone should go in to the profession of official rolex therapist.

I love the GMT on a technical level but I personally can't stand the current GMTc. I don't care for the black style with the green lettering / hand.

I do however, love the elegance of the green 116610LV sub. It really grows on you.

So I vote a very strong sub LV for now, and I'll gladly change my vote to the GMT when a Pepsi version resurfaces.

get the GMTIIc only if you love it, not if you love it but for the bezel numbers......(full-disclosure: the bezel numbers are what keep me from really loving that watch....though i don't mind them as much on the TT version).

so.............

You guys are the best and sure know how to make decisions difficult here for folks... A. Sharp, looking at Anthony's, Ken's and Mike's pictures I advise you to log off of your computer go and take a nap, come back to your thread tomorrow morning. The first picture you see when you scroll through your thread is the one you should get! You can't go wrong either way! Good luck!

I had a GMT IIc and loved it for a year. Sometime during the next year, the large numbers on the bezel and the PLC's started to bother me. Sold it, bght a HULK/HYPE/Larry Legend and couldn't be happier.

I worried about the numbers around the dial as well. I also worried about my wrist size....

I took the plunge anyway and bought the GMT IIc. What a beatuiful watch and I do not regret the purchase. It looks great and the size and numbers do not interfere with its looks on me.

Buy both.

I own both watches and I love them both. If I had to get rid of one or the other, I would keep the Hulk. It is more unique and feels a little bit more special.

In addition, I prefer the Glidelock clasp to the EasyLink and once you have it sized for your wrist, I don't think that you will have a problem with the length of the clasp. I have a 6.75" wrist and find it extremely comfortable. Pictures tend to overemphasize the clasp length. I LOVE the tool-free custom fit that the Glidelock provides in any condition.

The GMT is also a great watch, but it is a little more understated. BOTH look fantastic with casual clothing. I don't really travel often, so the novelty of the GMT function is fun to play with, but I use the timing bezel on the Submariner much more in my everyday life.

Submariner LV-C > GMTIIC for me.
Good luck with your decision.

Honestly its not a bad place to be if you have to choose between the two. However you should def see the LV in person if you haven't, its very different in pictures. if you have issues with the size of both I suggest you look at the newly released sub-c no date. Its slightly smaller I believe than the date sub/LV. and might fit the gap in your use/collection

I too looked at the GMT a loved it and one day thought " hmm, that bezel seems busy" and since then have been looking at other models.

The GMTC will go with any clothing you have on. Tough choice but mine would be the GMTC. Good luck.
