Assuming that a 1680 (white) and a 1016 are comparable in terms of vintage, accessories, shape (original dial/hands), working condition, and service history - which is considered more valuable and sought-after? As an owner of a 1680 (white), I know where I lean, but after a quick look at the prices on some vintage markets, it appears that in some cases a 1016 fetches a 1-3K premium over a similarly-situated 1680. Thoughts?

Both the 1016 and 1680 are surely beautiful. However I would think the 1680 is more popular and so more sought after and easier to resell. Not sure about comparative prices or premiums though, maybe someone else will provide an insight on that!

The Submariner 1680 is probably the best known between the two, and probably the most sought-after.

I agree, the 1680 is def better known and I would say more sought after. From what I've seen parts are more readily available for the 1680, as well.
