Any doctors in the house? Need help..

I am going to the doc tomorrow ASAP but had a question to any docs on the forums.. (I am sure there are a few docs in here).
So last night I started feeling very weak my legs felt like jello and had a headache so fell asleep at 8pm. Over night I woke up to pee and I was all sweaty and had the shivers I had to run back in bed under the covers I was so sweaty and it was 69-70 degrees... Woke up felt a little better ate and went to work at noon and still was very weak, legs felt like jelly , Neasaus and feel very week.. I am going to call my doc as early tomorrow as possible, anyone have any ideas? I never sleep as much as I did in the last 2 days..my head is killing me and I am really weak.. Any ideas? I never get sick, migraine here and there I take maxalt or relpax but nothing like I feel today.. I don't have enough energy to read TRF

I'm not a doctor and cannot offer any advise, sorry, but interesting you mentioned Maxalt which I've been taking for the past month to treat my Chronic Cluster Headaches. It's the 1st time I've been prescribed this drug and it seems to have cured the problem for time being, been painfree for the past 10 days.......life is good, hope you get well soon.

You probably have a virus, but with those symptoms you could have ANYTHING. Fever will make you have all the symptoms you are describing, and ANY type of illness that causes fever can be the culprit.

You need to be examined. It is impossible to diagnose someone without specific symptoms and without an exam.

My advice, see your provider, take something for fever and the aches (Motrin or Advil), drink LOTS of fluids and call you provider EARLY. We all hate it when you call at 4:30pm and want an appointment NOW. Hehehe. You will probably live and I hope you feel better.

PS Fever is okay! Fever is your body's way of cooking off the infection. Unless you are 103.5 or 104 F (with a regular thermometer under the tongue) don't stress. Over 104 you are more likely to have a more serious infection....

Thank for the advice....

So I should stay under the covers to sweat more or try to sweat less?

Maxalt is great if you have it on you and take it when you feel the headache coming on but if it hits then nothing helps..

It doesn't really matter, but bundling up will make your temperature go up not down. If you just take some Ibuprofen the fever will be reduced and probably reduce your symptoms substantially. Then you might not even sweat at all!

I always have to remind adult patients to treat their fever. Fever is not bad, but it makes you feel like crap!!

AND HYDRATE!!! Fever makes you dehydrate faster.

There is a terrible strain of norovirus in NJ right now. I just called my fiancé to get the details. Shes at the hospital now. She is a Nurse practitioner in the ER. I had it 2 weeks ago and sounds like what I had. Theyre flyers all over the hospital describing it. Drink lots of fluids. Ibproufin to break the fever. Check it every half hour. If it starts to rise again take more Ibproufin to keep it down. I'm not a doctor. This is coming from my fiance

This virus has taken a heavy toll on elderly and children. It's been presenting with very high fever. It's been running its course in 48-72 hours.

Again, it depends on what you have. Steroids reduce inflamation and make you feel better, in general, but you don't want to treat something that you are unsure of. Again, see your provider, take fever reducer, drink lots of fluids and rest. Most viral illnesses last a few days, but some viral illnesses like Mono can last for weeks. If you have a bacterial infection you might need prescription meds. If you are feeling bad in the am, call and make an appointment.

Aren't you a car salesman? Stop acting like a bogue and go to your healthcare provider!!! Hehehehe! My husband says I should treat him when he is ill because we sent me back to school. Then he doesn't listen to my advice :) Hehehhe. just picking on you!!! I understand not wanting to miss a deal, but you gotta take care of yourself.

Usually 48-72 hours from signs of first symptom to last fever. That is just a gross estimate for the norovirus going around in NJ.

Kaya is right this could just as likely be bacterial. Really no way to tell unless u get to the doctor.

Yes I am but see I don't make $$ unless I am there and it is the end of the month coming up so most people come in because for some strange reason they think they are getting a good deal..
I am taking off tomorrow already text my boss it is not worth it , I just hope I get this outta me by thursday... I started feeling really sick last night so it has been like 30 hours so far and I slept about 25 of them.. I went into work at noon but left at 4 being I did not look or feel good and you don't feel like dealing with the public when you are sick especially when the genral public thinks we are the scum of the earth..

They're really not going to like you if they come in for a minivan and leave with an illness. When sick, stay home and get better and don't infect anyone else.
Good luck seeing your Dr. and I hope you feel better soon.

FWIW I used to go to work sick. Be a hero, work sick, dedicated etc. then I found that if I stay home in bed for 1 or 2 days I can get back to work, be productive faster than a miserable week suffering and sick while working.

You have to watch out for those pesky migrants.

Hope you feel better soon. Those are some uncomfortable symptom.

You might have influenza. Usually, influenza occurs from October through February, but this year, the influenza viruses are very late, and we're just now seeing the first major clusters of cases, at least in the northern states. Symptoms include headache, chills, fever, body aches, sore throat, dry cough and malaise. If diagnosed within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms, there are anti-viral agents which can reduce the amount of time you feel sick. Otherwise, it runs its course over a period of a week or so. If you have no underlying medical conditions predisposing you to complications, you should be fine. of course, if you had a flu shot last fall, all of the above is moot, and you probably just have an aforementioned virus. Good luck.

For many reasons: ( ===LIABILITY===) , medical advise dispensed over the internet is never wise. What may seem as a "run of the mill" malaise , could be something much worse (or probably nothing to worry about). There could be hundreds of symptoms that can include "fever"................and guesstimating is never the correct solution. EVER.

One should always proceed to visit a competent health specialist. ALWAYS. That competent specialist will make the determination if you need lab work, hospitalization, etc...,

I hope you feel better and continue to update us. If you do get any lab work done and want to share..........pm me !
