Contemplating a Rolex SubC No Date for daily wear
About a year ago, I was looking into getting a Rolex GMT IIC, but I eventually ended up getting a Vacheron Constantin Overseas instead. More recently, I purchased a Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Duo.
Together, these two watches fill the dressy sports watch and dress watch categories in my collection, and I'm now contemplating my next watch purchase, intended for daily wear, and the upcoming Rolex SubC No Date looks particularly appealing. Since my JLC Grande Reverso Duo has a dual timezone complication, the GMT complication on the GMT IIC is less compelling to me, and the polished center links always struck me as a bit too dressy and high-maintenance for daily wear. Between the SubC Date and SubC No Date, I find the No Date to have a much cleaner dial, and I prefer not having the protruding cyclops. All in all, the SubC No Date seems (to me) like the perfect Rolex for daily use. Does anyone feel that way, and would that be a good watch to round off my collection of high-end/luxury watches? Photos of the current collection: and the Rolex Submariner Ceramic No Date that I'm considering: |

Thought about that too, but in the end I went with the SubC Date. No regrets.

I think the 14060M matches your collection better.

all of your watches have a date. would you be OK with a no date sub? maybe you need one of the Rolexes with date and no cyclops? Like a sea-dweller?
Nice collection. Good luck. |

I couldn't have a "daily" wearer if it didn't tell me what "day" it was. JMHO

Not everyone likes a cyclops bulging out of their crystal!
I say it would be a great daily wearer, and like you said it is not too dressy which is a great pro for you. I feel the same way, I do not want to deal with PCL as scratches appear quickly and often. I can not wait to try one on |

Any sub is a great daily wearer. Just need to ask yourself if you need a date or not, I do.

Should be a great daily wearer, though I prefer the date function myself.

my initial thought was a classic SD would be the perfect watch to round out the collection

Sure, why not. Sub C ND is a perfectly good watch to watch everyday.
But personally I would opt for Sub C (date) or 14060M. Just my preference

Sub C no date will be the best daily watch. Simple, classy, scratch proof bezel (cerachrom bezel), clean face, uniform even glass (no bulging cyclops), elegant and it's a Rolex. For the purist, this is the way to go as an article in hodinkee says, check this out...

IMO I can't stand no date watches. I couldn't wear one daily without a date.

I put a deposit down on one. So I vote 'yes'.
Think its going to be a great daily. If you want a date, get a SD. Only issue with the new ND is that the price looks like its going to be pretty high compared to a nice pre-owned or LNIB SubC Date that you can find today...no waiting required. Personally, I don't mind paying the premium as I am not a cyclops fan and want the updates like C and glide. Good luck. |

I think any Rolex Oyster Professional is almost perfect for daily use.
Especially full brushed models like Explorer 1 and 2, Submariner Date and ND is perfect for daily use, IMHO. Choosing Sub Date or Sub ND is personal preference. You can't go wrong any of them. |

Wear a 14060m as my daily wearer. Can't fault it.
Far rather have a sub without date than a SDDS. The size and expense of the SDDS are far more of an issue to me than the absence of a date. Can't understand why people who can't understand not having a date on a watch bother to post on these kinds of threads. Utterly pointless. |

It'll fit really well with those others. Unless you "need" the date, why not go for the cleaner no date lines and no cyclops?

The lugs on that Sub in the OP look mighty slim.
This is what the watch looks like on the site. http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...l-m114060-0002

The 14060 Sub is a great daily wear + its a little bit different from all the Date Subs you see everywhere. I have only ever seen one other person with the Sub but see the Date Sub every day.

At this price range, for daily wear, I prefer a watch with a date.

http://www.monochrome.nl/rolex-rumor...-date-114060m/ I like the case shape of the 14060M, but prefer the ceramic bezel, the glidelock clasp and solid middle links of the 114060M. I would like to try both on before making a decision, but worry that the 14060M will be sold out before the 114060M becomes available. |

I think I'm adding it to my list.
