ED Marshall's / Scottsdale, AZ

I stopped in ED Marshall's today as I had not been in there for about 6 months, what an amazing display of watches now they are an AD for about 2 dozen watch brands...no Rolex, Breitling or Omega though

They had dozens of pre-owned Rolex's, all in exceptional condition. Daytona', GMT's, Subs and DJ's. Tons of DJ's; TT, SS, etc. They had 1/2 dozen DD too They even had two new Explorers; one black and one white at $7,995

Keep in mind, nothing is cheap in here, but you do get a 1 year warranty and they will deal a tad....

What caught my eye was a LNIB Rootbeer GMT on a jubilee that was mint, mint, mint with zero stretch on the jubilee....The bezel was so sharp you could have cut yourself on it and it was a complete set with everything down to the sticker on the back and the hang tag. Obviously, never polished too. The sales person said it was just sold to them and the gentleman claimed it was won through a sales contest many, many years ago and he never wore the watch, like in never

They also had a white sub 1680, in exceptional condition (hands had been replaced but dial patina was awesome as well as the bracelet) and a 16800 that was just as nice. They also had an early 14060 with some beautiful patina...

Nice day of watching if you ask me...

Funny, they have quite the impressive collection of pre-owned Rolex's. Here's the GMT from their website. If anyone ever wanted a LNIB, this is it.

http://www.edmarshalljewelers.com/rolex-p-5317.html

I thought it could be had at a reasonable price. PM me and I'll tell you what it's priced at....

Well they used to be a Omega AD but fell to the Boutique takeover. Omega opened a Boutique a few miles down the road at a large mall.

As far as becoming a Rolex AD, you pretty much have to sell your sole to the Devil.

There are a few other AD's in the area that sell Breitling so maybe Breitling does not want to flood the market in that area.

Yeah, the Omega Boutique was the end of their AD status. This particular store has a Breitling and Rolex AD about 6-8 miles north and south of it....

That GMT is a beauty.
I guess it is hard to find one in identical condition hence the asking price. Try to find on ebay and you'll see there is a big difference in quality - most are polished etc.
But this one is a virgin!
If I am fan of this caliber I'd do my best to negotiate and own it.

I got really lucky when I snagged mine off ebay. It was a lot closer to mint than I ever dared to hope, but to get one that's really cherry? WOW!

I think I'd have had a real hard time keeping the plastic in my pocket. A real damn hard time!

E.D. Marshalls is a good place to scope out preowned Rolexes. I always deal with Peter there and you can negotiate somewhat. BTW, I did check out the Rootbeer and it is in "crispy" condition.
