Help IDing My Rolex for me?
Hey guys. I received this gold Rolex through an inheritance and would love to know more about it. I'm pretty sure it was purchased mid-20th Century.
Thanks! http://s1242.photobucket.com/albums/...rent=Rolex.jpg |

Looks like a hooded bubbleback.
Dial & Crown look unusual for a bubbleback (Dial may have been refinished & Crown upgraded...). The bracelet is different as well (Is it signed Rolex?). In any event, I'm sure someone else will chime in. Welcome to the TRF!

Hi Austinlad,
Did you read my post? P.s A watchmaker should be able to open it and perhaps give you some info. I know of a watch shop in Austin that could help.

Hey Drew, You could be corret. It would be helpful if the OP could post more pictures at different angles as well as the back of the watch. Perhaps the end pieces are not fixed at all to the watch.

Hi there. It's a model 5018 Oyster Perpetual Chronometer from the 1950s. It's beautiful. What a great inheritance.

I thought ref. 5018 was "Bombe" with twisted lugs ?
In any event the OP "Finally" has what he is looking for...
