No price increase in the last year.
Am I the only one who is a little upset about no price increase since last May. Im in the air conditioning business and even the cost of freon has gone up 300 percent since January. Is Rolex sales fizzling out or have they realized that they are already too overpriced? Maybee they think that they have canned all the big discounting AD's and people are having to pay full retail now.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. Rolex just had a semi-increase by raising the cost to the dealers recently. I'm sure we will see an increase soon enough...it's inevitable.

The pricing this year worked out well for me, so I'm not complaining.
We'll just have to see what the future will bring. I would be careful what I wish for.

Upset they have not raised prices Not at all! I do agree however that we will see a increase this year at some point... I would think it would be in the 3-8% range but what do I know

3-8% is probably being conservative.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Rolex might hear you. Besides they reduced their ADs Margin, so in a way this reduced the likely hood of some discounting so a price increase of sorts actually took place.

Rolex did increase the price...........to the ADs
This increase of cost to ADs supplemented a price increase to consumers on the retail price of a rolex. The next increase will surely be a retail price increase |

Looks like nobody else is upset. How does canning ADs help Rolex? The cost to the AD is all the profit they get.

wouldn't be surprised to see a 10% rise this year, they may want to make good the calm period

Well, the currency situation has calmed down, that was one of the principal reasons behind the price rises - everything at their end is dealt with in Swiss Francs, and it has been particularly strong against the Dollar and Pound. Since the Swiss devalued their currency, it's evened out - gold prices have slowed as well, ergo no need for a price rise. Enjoy the stability!

You are upset that they did not increase prices, that just might be the silliest thing I have ever heard on any watch forum. Literally, I am almost at a loss for words over your statement.
Rolex did decrease the dealer margins a few months ago which means they are charging the AD's more for the watches, they just left the MSRP's alone.

It has always been a pretty accurate statement that the best time to buy rolex is now. I just dont believe that anymore. I'm seeing better deals on the second hand market now than I saw a year ago.

Of course, ADs always want you to buy on any given date you happen to be in the store, but everyone and his brother was advising to buy before October because an increase was at hand. I decided to take that gamble and I do hate to gamble, but it turned out well for me and the AD, because not only was there no price increase, but I took possession of it before the margin decrease. I called it good logic, but the truth suggests more strongly that it was pure luck, as history doesn't indicate that good judgement when it comes to money is my strong suit.

With the new models due to arrive at the end of the summer will the existing models need price adjustments to fall into line?
I know in the UK the new Sub is £4190 I think a Sub date is £5300 something is there usually a bigger diffrence between the date and non date ?
