I collect fishing and hunting stuff, golf stuff old and new, weapons (shhhhhhh), and large credit card bills.... I'm sure there is more but that's what I've been buying lately.

Ooh, there it is. Thanks, Dan. Pure beauty. We left one fixture similar to yours at our old house when we moved... now I regret it after finding out the new owner gutted most of the rooms.
Do you have any idea who the maker was? Markel? Lincoln? |

I collect things like most that can't be discussed on this forum, and art.

Those things that shall go nameless, appear to be a fairly common interest on the forum. It's a shame that we can't have a sub forum for it. Oh well, there are certainly other places we can engage on that topic. I understand the reasoning behind prohibiting it here, makes for a safer feel to this forum, and I suspect threads about it end up in a heated socio-political debate.

Here ya go, lighting people. First one is a six-light with two-tone glass, in totally original condition; second is a Bradley and Hubbard converted oil lamp (electrified), family piece.

I am an avid collector of money. But too often, I have to trade it with something else. LOL

J, where did you find that slip shade fixture? It's gorgeous - the shades look perfect - very difficult to find them without chips.
I have a couple more.... Unfortunately I don't have a closeup of the night stand lamp, but here you also can see two of our old prints - not particularly valuable but old, and I liked the look. A couple of Maxfield Parrish prints from the early 1920s, Rubaiyat and Daybreak: Ebay find, perfect for our entry: We hoped this hanging fixture would look original to the house - the original fixtures were, sadly, long gone. Heh, I don't know what the deal is with my curtains. |

I collect wine, mostly Italian Nebbiolo's from Piedmont, Northern Califonian Cab's and Pinot, with a little bit of Zin. I have about 3500 bottles mostly kept in an offsite temparature controlled facility. It started out as a hobby durring my restaurant management days and grew to an obsession. I have a Sommelier certificate from the U.S.S.A. and I just bloody well like to drink the stuff! I have tonned down my collecting as of late to concentrate on my retirement saving, but i still pluck a few bottle a month to store.

^Wow, nice wine collection there, Marc.
Lisa, I found it at an antiques store years ago, one that has a lot of salvage from the area. Where we also got vintage sinks and bathroom hardware. There's at least a hairline on one shade but totally stable. I used to have a beautiful two-light pendant fixture and the painter guy broke one shade and I could never replace it...those slip shades aren't that interchangeable. Love your and Dan's lighting pics! And the Parrish prints too. |
