So got a call today from my AD
I have an AD I visit often in San Diego where I bought my Daytona and another watch for my wife.
My guy called me today saying he had some good pieces in if I want to come take a look. Pretty cool he would think of me. He also comments to me before hanging up "just a reminder, when you have your Daytona for 5 years, bring her back and I will give you full retail price towards a new watch" regardless if is costs more or less on the new watch. Anyone have this type of experience or for lack of a better word, warranty on the money you spent? Thinking the Sub #116619 might be in my near future since I have paid a little less than half already. HAHA Thoughts/Comments? |

I wonder if it is only on select pieces as well? The Omega I bought my wife was not give the same verbiage after we purchased it. Hmmmm

Well the AD that i bought my Daytona from guarantee full retail trade value when I want to buy any future watch equal to double the value of my Daytona. Its not a great guarantee because I can probably sell my Daytona for more then what I bought it for in a few years. Plus watches that are in the 20k range are mostly precious metal watches, which can be had for a huge discount typically on TRF.

I got a similar speech but with the addtion: "Minus a full service on your watch." So minus $700. They win both ways.

Tiffany & Co does the same thing with their engagement rings. If you bring it back they'll give you the full price you paid towards another item that is at least double the original item. I didn't tell my wife about this but one of the sales people eventually did and now she wants an upgrade.

Wow! I didn't get any such deal from the AD I bought my DJ from two years ago. In fact, when I took it back to tighten a loose link, I asked them if they would consider a trade on a higher, TT, type, but they said no. Oh well, something to learn from all of this...
