Diamond Settings
hi guys
I can't seem to find any threads on diamond settings. What's the reason/benefit/difference of this new setting vs the old? TIA |

Unfortunetely the two watches have different setting even today day date only has the baguette on 6 and 9 and still does. If you are referring to the much larger gold surrounds I think it's just a matter of taste I like the finer old setting as it shows off the diamond ( it looks more suspended) rather than the larger surrounds on the newer ones. However some of the earlier fine settings were in white gold even on a yellow gold watch, I was not fussed on that combo.

Just speculating, but with the pyramid setting (more surround) the diamonds are smaller hence cheaper.

the mounting are different. The newer version of all diamond mounting on the dial has a based, versus the older style doesn't have the base.
