THREE AP ICONIC WATCHES Meet for Drinks!!!

Last night I met with one of our dear TRF members in Chicago to have a few beers and let our iconic watches meet each other for the first time.

I brought a few pieces including my 25721ST.0.1000ST.01 and my 15300ST. Our dear friend brought his gorgeous 25770ST.0.0001KE.01 on a black strap instead of the kevlar one. Something I've always loved about this watch besides the gorgeous kevlar strap is that the case is shaped like the 'End Of Days' and the dial is just like the EOD but in blue and gray.

As you probably know, it's almost impossible to see our watches in the wild, let alone having them together at the same time. I've only seen mine twice and his three times in the last 15 years.

All I can say is that it was a fun night! Beers were ice cold, pork belly sliders were warm and tasty and the chance to have all these watches together was just priceless. I like his watch so much that I don't know if I'll get a Diver or one like his next.

Any thoughts? Do you think mine and his are too similar to own both?

I don't think they look too similar. As much as I like the EOD look, I prefer the versatility of swapping bracelet/straps on the classic ROO case.

Thanks for your input. Several friends have told me they think it looks too similar because of the blue dial; however, I tend to agree with you. I think the big down side of the EOD case is that you can't add a SS bracelet which is something that I really like. Gotta figure out which one should I get next. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Totally different timepieces and both are must owns for an Audemar fan, especially you Hal! Very nice!

I like how you think Sam. I keep telling my friends that both watches are very different and they keep persuading me not to get one. Being the huge AP fan that I am, I definitely see this piece as a must have. Maybe I need both the Diver and this one.

Why not just find an EOD, Hal? You'll have the styling you like and it's very different from your other pieces.

I would love to, however, it's a lot of money and quite steep to go down that slippery slope. While I love the original EOD, I am not sure I would put $45-50K towards one. Just me voicing my opinion. I am not saying it's not worth it. I think it is worth it all the way. Nevertheless, there are many other AP pieces that I like better for that amount of money. For instance getting a 5402ST.

Great looking watches, but I too think they both look quite a bit alike.

However that in itself has not stopped me from getting some of the watches I have gotten previously.

Great looking pieces Hal, It must been a great evening by the looks
The models are very different from each other imo, And myself would love adding a "vintage" ROO.

You are damn right! I wish my 5402SA wasn't at service in Le Brassus. That would've been an awesome picture.

A little bit but not too much. The place was somewhat empty. The one that was a little stunned was our waitress. The funniest part is that she thought my ROO was like $120 bucks.
