London ADs
I was in London at the weekend and visited the Rolex boutique in Knightsbridge. I also noticed there was another one nearing completion in Bond Street. Does anybody know what will happen to the ADs in London when both these boutiques are opperating to full potential?

Not sure...... but there must be a few worried ADs close by.
There is actually one literally just a few doors down from the new boutique in Bond Street. I would have thought most people would probably prefer to buy from Rolex if they want that AD experience and have already limited their choice down to a Rolex. |

i'd buy from a Rolex boutique as opposed to an AD
not saying that all ADs are in London are useless but the vast majority is...

I would buy from where they offered the best price.

naturall, we all would, and having said that, i'll never buy from a UK AD, but IF I had to, then I'd be from the boutique where they know what they're on about..
i buy all my stuff from here and outside the UK...

In an ideal world they would go out of business as it would be a great reflecton of just how useless the majority of AD's are. Mind you the Knightsbridge boutique has pretty naff staff as well...
Realistally though they'll end up not selling as many Rolex's, lose thier distribution agreement and put Omega up in the window instead. |

The one at Knightbridge is owned by Time2, which they have others shops else stocking Rolex and other brand also.
The Rolex boutique on Old Bond Street is currently undergoing renovation/face lift. This one is owned by Watches of Switzerland... Who also sells Rolex in their stand alone shops, as well as Mappin & Webb, which is also owned by Watches of Switzerland (or the Arun Group (sp!)) |

Whilst they still have the dealership my regular Independent AD will get my cash, i'm betting the Boutique won't give any discount
