Why Are There Always More Guests Than Members?

Last time I looked, there were 68 members and 121 guests online.

Often times, guests are a multitude of "Yahoo Slurp Spiders" or similar.

They're Bot programs that scan the internet and index it for yahoo...or a similar search engine like google.

You got to think about how the search engine knows where everything is as well.

You can deny certain addresses like google or yahoo on the website so the actual visitors would more or less show but there's no need I suppose.

I think I fall into that category often (not a spy) in that usually I'll scan the posts and sign on only when I want to reply to something.

Oh well, I've been caught. I am head of marketing for Rolex and a regular spy on this forum. After finding such great Rolex enthusiasts here I've decided to offer a free watch to all TRF members because of their dedication to the brand.

That sounds completely reasonable. I will take a black dial Daytona.

Why thank you, Michael! I'll take an SS GMTII-C!

My understanding is that we've gone up the Google rankings over time, and I expect that the number of guests can be partially explained by people checking out the forum before signing on. Looking at the number of new members we're getting, I expect that the quality of posting we're getting here is attracting a fair bit of attention, so well done, all!
