Faded Paint on Daytona Bezel

I have a 2003 white dial stainless daytona, the watch is mint but the bezel black letters seem to be fading. What options do I have? Will Rolex repaint? if yes any idea of cost? how much is a replacement?

Before I sent it to Rolex..I would.

1. Wipe down bezel with denatured alcohol. Let dry.

2. Apply Testor's Black Enamel model paint with Q-tip filling in the numbers
etc. Let dry.

3. After drying. Take soft cotton cloth with wd-40 or similar non aggressive
solvent. Taking only the excess not filling the numbers etc.

4. Done

Cheers

Fantastic idea. After you finish working on your $10,000 Rolex, you can do a DIY Appendectomy

Rolex will do that during a service. The starting point is about $600 not including any parts you'd need to replace.

I wouldn't "paint" because it could end badly.
If you get a replacement bezel it could be just as bad in a few years.

I'd suggest you get a better watch back when the RSC does a full service - especially if it is time for that already.

Or if you know a very good watchmaker with a parts account you could save a few hundred $$$.

The starting points for a Daytona tend to be $800+ parts from what I've seen. I agree about everything else.

C'mon guys we're not splitting atoms here! Just go slow. All the enamel cleans up. If done correctly will look factory.

It's just what I would do before I send it to Rolex and paid $800.00 and be without. Especially if this was all that was wrong.

Thanks for the comments, no shot of me doing it myself, just don't want to spend $1K when the watch runs perfect.

This happens with Doxa bezels all the time. Testor enamel is how it's fixed. The paint can be removed if you apply it incorrectly. It is not that difficult...really.

Do a Google search for repainting Doxa bezel.

It can be applied but it won't bond to Rolex's white gold. Rolex Service Center in Dallas had polished my bezel and caused the engraved tachometer to fade. How did they fixed it?...they installed a brand new bezel which the cost was split between my AD and RSC Dallas. The cost to my AD was $1650 (confirmed since I have the receipt from RSC) and I heard the msrp cost was $3,000 for a brand new white gold bezel.

Model paint or black nail polish will work.
