116613 or platty ym?
I am trying to decide on a black 116613 tt or a platt/ss yachtmstr. I currently have a 116610lv . I do like awatch with a black dial. Ive also considered the ym and trading my hulk for an LN. Im thinking out loud. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

In the end it always depends on what you prefer but I personally would go with the 116613 TT with a black bezel and dial.

The 116613LN is my favorite Rolex. I think it is a great all around watch. You can't go wrong with either. Good luck.

I'd go GMTIIc for black dial. Wait for the new YM with a dark blue dial as its pretty cool.

Just got rid of my Yacht-Master and looking for a 116613 black now. Yacht-Master although beautiful was to hard to read for me during the day and the lume was horrible at night. 2007 model.
Keep the LV, you'll miss it. Good luck

The YM is one of my favorites but the 116613 with the glidelock is near perfect... full gold being perfect.

The YM is my least favorite Rolex (no offense Mike) so by default I would have to say 116613, although would say the GMTIIc would be a great choice also if it was due to wanting the black dial.

I have both a 16613 (blue model, not black) and a yachtmaster platty and stainless Steel, and I find the 16613 gets far more wrist time. I seem to either wear the 16613 or the 14060M. They just seem to go better with what i am wearing the majority of the time.

LV!!!! Don't base your decisions on picture they don't do the Green justice. Go to an AD and see it in person. I did and do not regret my decision.

TT Blue and LV for me. I think the Blue looks south better than the Black? IMO. LV is just an amazing watch. As for the Platty Yat, I like it, but it's not for me. I am sure you will be pleased with your choice.

I'd get the YM... the TT Sub is a bit too shiny...
bolt a new clasp on the YM and you have a killer watch...

I had a 16613 and have a 16610LV, and just recently acquired a 16622. IMHO you should keep your LV and pick up the Yachtmaster. It's a beautiful piece, and when on the wrist and out and about it will just grab your attention because of its shine and sparkle. But, despite all the glitz, it's monochromatic save for the red second hand and writing, so it's kind of subtle all at the same time.
The 16613 or new 116613 is a nice piece, but, and here I am going to put on my flame suit, I see them at every event I ever go to where anybody with anything is in attendance. They are a beautiful watch and so, lots of people buy them. Personally, I went serti when I did mine for something a little different. Anyways, I like different, so I always like things that are just a little outside the norm. I just think if the hulk attracted you, then your probably the same way. A LN or TT sub, next to a DJ are probably the three most popular Rolex models sold, and for good reason as they are classic and beautiful; but having the most popular model just isn't for me. Whatever you decide, please enjoy it and wear it in good health. |

My vote is for the YM but wait for the new one to be released since it will have the updated bracelet.

TT is a nice addition, if YM would wait for the new one to come out cause the old clasp is horrible.

I was in the same position facing the choice between the TT GMT2C and the YM, and I bought the 116713.
